He doesn't throw hard enough to intimidate anybody, he just gets hitters to chase sh!t outta the zone for some reason.

My dad used to always tell me "fans dont win games". He is also the same guy who gave me one of the best phrases I have ever heard. I use it a couple times a week - Winners suck less. I try to remember the "fans dont win baseball games" when watching but its very hard when its such as pivotal part of the experience. That being said - outs are outs - blown calls are blown calls - but the team that makes more plays wins most of the time. That was always his message. I thought Rivera had some masterful visits tonight in HUGE situations. One I thought he told Singer not to give in 3-1 with a guy who was 0-3 with 2 Ks on deck......it didnt work out but it was a solid approach. The other was 3-0 and he settled Byrne down and we all know how it worked out.

The backbone of this team is Rivera, Guthrie, and Nellie at this point (pitching aside obviously). That is why they are in the lineup every day even though they are not even close to 100%. I love this team. They remind me of the Royal a couple years ago. Maybe not the best team on paper - but the best TEAM!!!!

I know everyone is bagging on the announcers (I too didn't like listening to their one-sidedness either), but I look at it this way, They have called all of our games we have played in Omaha (LSU had different set of announcers in their bracket), and we are now 4 - 1 with them calling our games - so it seems their schlepness and doucebaggery commentary has been in our favor. They just need to call the game against us for one more win

 

Gators knocked him out early in gville win. I think gators will score against him. Just need Dyson to bring his A game

 

I haven't seen so many mullets since the early 90s.

 

I was worried we could not score against reynolds..he was not that good a pitcher..but our lack of hitting made him look better than he is

 

Umpire strike zone could be a factor with that lefty junk.

We will need more than 6 hits. JJ is LOA so far and the top of our lineup has done squat. Our bats have to help our pitching period from here on out.

 

Okay..can anyone ever remember announcers loving on the Gators...do we think announcers are for the other team cause we have our orange and blue glasses on? Do other teams think announcers go against them?
