Tucker with a game-tying home run in the bottom of the ninth tonight: http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/6479266/v373312983/dethou-tucker-belts-a-gametying-homer-in-the-9th
Matt den Dekker just got a pinch hit rbi single for the Nationals with two out in the bottom of the ninth to tie their game against Atlanta.
I read that Disco will probably be the opening day starter for the Reds? If so, wow - congrats to him!
Wow! He always seemed to have the stuff and looked the part but never really put it together at Florida. He got some nasty swings and misses with that slider over the years from what I remember.
Six Gators make opening day rosters. Mike Zunino not among them. http://floridagators.com/news/2016/...eball-players-on-mlb-opening-day-rosters.aspx
Yes, for the Springfield Cardinals, and I watched him play! He is looking good so far. Only problem is not getting much production once he is on base. He has mainly been getting singles.
A nice Bader article... http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/bader-forcing-cardinals-to-rewrite-script/#bkZZD6FgAwC8sPrE.97
I have always thought Bader had "it" to make it to The Show. And he might. But ... The Gator that I thought was a slam-dunk for being a great MLB player was Brad Wilkerson. He could do it all as a Gator. Great player. I wasn't so sure about that small shortstop named David Eckstein, though. That tells you what I know.
Bader showing up at 89... http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/midseason-top-100-prospects/#jVM1oWwEJ3oGpWMl.97
I am excited for Bader, but not for me. I only got to see one game in LR with him playing for Springfield. Hope he continues to surprise us. I do know that there is a backlog for center fielders in the Cardinals organization right now.
Saw yesterday in the papers that Disco won Monday night for the Reds........... He is now 6-0 this year, not a great ERA, but Cincinnati stinks this year, so 6-0 for them is pretty good I guess.
Yea I have been following him a little. Had a decent ERA before his last outing which I believe he gave up 5. Still getting it done and I hope he continues to do well.
Short little blurb about AJ Puk... http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/prospect-hot-sheet-april-21/#zaqETbgY3Dw1hTdk.97
Nolan Fontana got called up with the Angels. First time called up to the big leagues for him. Congrats to him. Lot of guys are starting to struggle a little after fast starts: Puk, Shore, Dunning, Anderson, Lewis are all going through a little bit of rough patches. Bader hitting almost .300 in AAA but still striking out about 25%. Tobias still holding strong in AA with a .3o4 batting average with 79 AB's. Reed and Alonso on the disable list right now. Richie Martin batting .250 in AA Scott Moss with a 2.60 ERA with some solid numbers. Still against single A competition. Brian Johnson has been up and down with the Red Sox earning a few spot starts. Zunino after changing his approach during spring training and actually doing quite well has been disastrous again at the MLB level. 34K's in 79 ABs. Just sad, don't think he can continue at this rate. Paco was going through injuries and currently not on a team. Austin Maddox in AAA is having a decent season. Daniel Gibson in AA with a 0.60 ERA in 14.2 innings pitched. I know there are a few more I am missing.
