It's already a federal holiday and has been since 1937 in all 50 states and territories. I think it's time to see if Trump can remember "person, camera, man, woman, TV". His mental acuity is non-existent.

Trump's non-sense tweet is below the list of federal holiday's I linked.

    Time for Article 25 yet?

but in many places they've essentially renamed it indigenous persons day. So he's basically getting rid of that language and focusing on the name Columbus day.

No. Some states also recognize Indigenous People's Day ON Columbus Day but it is not a federal holiday. I mean do you guys ever ever ever check on something before you weigh in? You just assume Donald must be right, cuz when has he ever got it wrong? CULT.

didnt say indigenous people day was a federal holiday. I'm a federal employee so know what the federal holidays are. But it's being referred to as indigenous people day. Even where I work they place less emphasis on columbus day and more on indigenous people day. So this EO will stop them from doing that.

You cant put out an EO to restrict people's free speech to recognize any day they want, either personally, or at the state and local level. The thought control you, Trump, and Bill want in this country is astounding.

We are finally back to promoting traditional American values like genocide of native populations and discovering places that were already discovered and taking credit

Not illegal but won’t hear indigenous people day at work anymore because our agency follows all presidential directives

It’s a fact. Can you name a single presidential directive that my agency has not followed?

I think Colombus day probably should be replaced, but “Indiginous People’s Day” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.

In either case, I care nought. The real battle is the War on Christmas.

How about you support your outlandishly Trumpian claim here in the context of the federal goverment?

He's embracing a lie, and suppressing the truth. What an ignorant moron.

"In actual fact, Columbus did not discover North America. He was the first European to sight the Bahamas archipelago and then the island later named Hispaniola, now split into Haiti and the Dominican Republic. On his subsequent voyages he went farther south, to Central and South America. He never got close to what is now called the United States."

To say he never got close is a bit much. He made it to both the Bahamas and Cuba. I think the claim is finding the new world anyway.
