Like around the Ave of the Americas when I attended; no way would I have ever eaten that food for a myriad of reasons.

I didn’t do much pot when I was at UF or otherwise, mostly drank beer. One night, a friend and I smoked a joint that was deadly and drank a lot and then were very hungry. He was driving down 13th, decided he wanted donuts and then proceeded to try to open up a new drive-thru window at the front of the Krispy Kreme donut shop. I realized there was no drive-thru where he was going as he tried hard to drive over a concrete parking bumper! He drove home about 3 mph after this incident!

Watching most The Who live shows on YouTube are a treat. They are not only very talented but Daltrey spinning his mic, Townshend doing moves he invented, and his patented helicopter maneuver is well worth watching. Then you have Entwistle standing like a statue but really playing feverishly and finally the genius maniacal, never stop Keith Moon. It’s wild and funny and they were damn good. May I suggest Won’t Get Fooled Again for a sample song to watch!

I love a good smash burger as well, and those are pretty much always well done. I have a hard time driving by a freddy’s. I like all kinds of burgers though. I enjoy one cooked over a wood fire about as much as a smash burger cooked on a flat top.

Morrison’s was one of my childhood favorites. I’m more bummed about losing it than just about any other restaurant we’ve lost over the years. Lol

I had a friend that was in the Air Force during the early Vietnam era based in the north of the UK. He got to see a lot of early Who concerts in small venues. I was so jealous.

Not sure after 44 years I left Gville in 2004. Now only visit a few times per year to see family and friends

Only one Morrisons is left, I believe it’s the original outlet in Mobile Alabama. I ate there about 10-15 years ago. Brought back some good memories

I would say I’d make an effort to stop by there next time I pass through, but it would probably just ruin my nostalgic childhood memories, lol. I did not know there was any still around. Thought they sold out to piccadilly and I think they may be gone or mostly gone too.

Next time we drive to Florida, we’ll see if it’s still there and report.
I liked Morrisons better than Piccadilly but you got to go with you got.

I liked morrisons a lot better than piccadilly, but that's what replaced the Morrison's in Gainesville, and we still ate there often enough until they closed down too.

In tx, we had furr's and luby's and a few other cafeteria style restaurants. Back in Gainesville, there's nothing similar anymore, and none of those ever really scratched the morrison's itch for me anyway. We did have a furr's close to where I worked and I ate there once a month or so. It was an AUCE cafeteria style place when I first started going there. Like Morrison's but the servers would bring you more food once you were at your table. It was a straight buffet by the time I moved back to Gainesville. It was better than a Ryan's or Golden Corral, but still no Morrison's.

For buffet on south 13th St there was a place called Sweden House I believe there is some “college “ there now. That probably went out of business due to over eating by too many students. The food was good and huge variety. It’s not far from where the south 13st Jerrys was. That location has been lots of restaurants. Might have been the spot that Rickey’s raw bar moved after it left the clubhouse at the UF golf course.

I’m seeing there is a Morrisons at a Springlake Mall in Mobile. It would be my honor to report it’s there, after I eat of course….
My wife is going to be very happy!

If it hits the spot, I may have to make the 10+ hour round trip!

I used to eat there. My good friend was Chinese and said it was "dorm food". He did have a dinner there but nothing was on the menu and it was great.

It really helps if your friends are Chinese and order off the menu

Not a fan of chinese food, but I put a hurting on that place a few times on snow crab night. Now the few chinese buffets that still offer crab legs put them out like six scrawny legs at a time, no clusters. Not worth the effort and the wait.
