I believe that was called Rubys. If the parking lot was too full at Arts Steak House ( it was where the massage school is now) we would keep driving south.

I do. The statue out front always caught my eye. Going out to eat was a rare treat and we never went there. The allure of the unknown.

I was a child but I remember sitting inside Frischs watching the “hippies” walking by protesting the Vietnamese war.

You can’t be a more picky eater than me! It’s just not possible. Example: I have to have any steak, burger well done - the horror! I was raised on great, traditional Southern food.

Heck I remember when Brasington and Shaw & Keeter were opposite each other down on far East University. Almost to Palatka, it seemed to us NW siders.

I remember Manero's on the east side. There was another Italian place on 441 south of the prairie that a boxing motif like maybe the owner was a former boxer. I can't remember the name.

Dunmore's in Micanopy had pretty good burgers and fried chicken and is long gone. They were about where Blue Highway is now.

Yes, he can be the guy who has the sign in the background that says "Golden's mother wasn't as good as Ivana!"

But, you’d have to like Cheap Trick first. I don’t dislike that band, but am apparently unaware they had enough material to make a live album.
I am intrigued though and will check out that LP - thanks.

I’m sure many people would say I rurnt that steak. It’s not so much that I like meat like a shoe heel, it’s more I don’t like the pink juices running down my chin. I saw a dude eat a burger that was much closer to the grocery raw state than cooked to show no pink. It literally was on the grille for about two minutes. I’ll never forget this.

I can’t do a raw burger. Pink doesn’t bother me, but I don’t like red/uncooked. Steaks, I like on the medium rare side of medium, but usually just order medium. Pink throughout and just barely turning pink in the middle is ok. Burgers or any ground meat, well side of medium well. A streak of pink in the middle doesn’t bother me, but no red.

I had a buddy back in school that would be cutting off chunks and eating pieces of meat that we were marinating. He cooked them for about 20 seconds on each side and called it good once the grill was hot. Too much for me, I don’t like the flavor of uncooked meat, but some cuts, I consider pink to be cooked.

For you real old gainesvillians, there was a cafeteria style(think Morrisons) restaurant called the Parklane. It was located in the Main Street shopping center. My mom would shop at the Belk-Lindsey and take us next door to eat.

Little Feat Waiting for Columbus is another great live album. So is The Who Live at Leeds.

We would be pretty much the same on burgers but I also like the thinner, slightly crispy along the edge burgers (think Freddy’s or Steak and Shake)
