I dont want us to do it but think trump will or at least say so and not go all the way out. I wouldn’t put it past him to give Russia intel that can be used against Ukraine.

So what do you think Trump is going to do now that Ukraine has said no to the deal? What if trump gets angry at Ukraine?

I don’t think there’s any middle ground as Trump said he’s going to stop the war. I don’t see any compromise from Trump.

So what you’re saying is if Trump butts out Ukraine is dead?

I doubt we get involved if a Polish plane is shot down, article 5 or not. Trump has already mentioned starting WWIII as a reason for Ukraine to accept his and Russias rediculous demands. No way he lets that involve us.

    My 2 cents

It is becoming increasingly apparent that Trump has been compromised by Putin. I am sure that during one of their bro calls last summer, Vlad the Murderous Invader made Trump a deal he could not refuse. Back off of Ukraine and Putin gives Trump his own territory that he can pillage after he is ran out of America when the jig is up, kind of like Lysenko in Belarus. Sounds crazy but it does make sense as to why these alleged negotiations have been so one sided in a way that weakens Ukraine and exposes them to a future invasion. Also explains why Dump and VD berated Zelensky the way they did, why they turned on our allies, and why they are betraying NATO. I am certain that Trump was promised his own territory.
This theory is in line with his character and Czar like behavior.

Trump told Vladimir to stop. I’m confident it will all be OK now.

Nothing a little actual ass kicking couldn't resolve in a NY minute.

Like Trump undoing Barry's display of cowardice v/v the invisible red line with a couple of MOAB's, or annihilating ISIS, after it was exploding like stage 4 cancer...

    Same as Doh! Biden.

Certainly not Trump's shining esthetic moment, but let's check score cards after 4 years.

So far, Trump held peace for his 4 years, and Doh! Ushered in war during his 4, and pissed in the wind trying to undo the fruits of his own incompetence.

So far, 3 months in, all Trump has actually attempted, is diplomacy.

    3 months.

3 years, 9 mos. to go...

Perhaps, but that's more a function of how shitty the thread has been from the get, than the particular cleverity of the post..

The sanctimony has been flooding forth from the Doh! Biden apologists from the beginning of the invasion...

    Oligarchs???

Trump is trying to get the US --not his family--an interest in Ukraine's mineral wealth. THAT would be Ukr's greatest assurance of keeping Rus at bay.

Russia can't handle Ukraine using our leftover hardware.

They know damn well any entanglement with the US will result in humiliation, followed by desperation, which likely means nuclear exchange.

So yeah, Trump's deal sucks for the Ukies--but it's great for us (t the US), and Europe--and actually shitty for Rus--bc the thing they really don't want, is NATO's ass, up against their border--which is exactly what they'd get, with Trump's proposal.

Facilitating the continuance of the war leads only to more destruction, and worse still, destabilization of the region, which is far more likely to lead to global chaos, than the poor ukies having to choke down injustice.

You do know that the better part of Ukraine's mineral wealth is in the parts of Ukraine currently occupied by Russia, don't you?

If Trump wanted to negotiate from a position of strength, he would continue Biden's military aid to Ukraine, and increase it to give Ukraine what they need to push Russia out of their country. He's negotiating from a position of weakness, which is why he is begging Putin to STOP attacking Kiev. Obviously, Putin sees how weak Trump is, and will continue to ignore him to get him to give up even more of Ukraine's territory and security guarantees.

Mostly agree with this, but the point from our (US) vantage point, is that the Biden/globalist approach has Ukr keeping its wealth, with zero payback provisions to Ukr (that is, for Ukr to pay back what we'vegiven them), and therefore zero reason for our continued involvement.

Trump's plan makes Ukr stability and vested interest of the US.

Skin in the game, rather than abstract conjecture pretend dividends.

...also, contrast Trump's plan, with the possible result of Russia prevailing...and keeping ALL of Ukr's mineral wealth.

Ukraine is going to need all the cash it can get to REBUILD the country after FIGHTING ONE OF OUR TOP TWO ENEMIES in the world. If they win, they save us $2.5 trillion on defense spending over the next decade or two, AND they make the world a safer place with the barbarians defeated. They would also be a loyal customer of U.S. weapons in the future, as well as a supplier of minerals to the U.S. on friendly terms. Ukraine would also be able to continue selling food to the rest of the world, preventing additional violence created from people starving (which often causes the U.S. to become involved militarily at some point). Long-term peace is the cheapest option. Trump is selling out Ukraine to achieve short-term peace.

Extorting money from them while they are fighting for their freedom and independence is not only immoral, it's bad business. Letting Russia win this war (or even hold on to the lands it has captured) will cause the U.S. to spend trillions more than it would if Russia were defeated.

All of which relies on conjecture, and speculation.

    "Money talks....bullshit walks."

Osama Bin Laden and the mujahideen were our allies... against the Soviets.

Conjecture and speculation had OBL as a good guy, never attacking us, and the Russian Soviets, as an imminent threat to the US.

To date, Russia has not attacked us; OBL otoh, logged >3,000 American kills on a single fateful day.
