North of Green Bay. Biggest town isn't very big but Oconto Falls. Spruce is the closest town. The funeral was in Lena. Really small towns.

My family had a deer shack and acres of virgin forest near Nelma. Nice canoeing on the border river up there. No bridges for miles and excellent trout fishing but hard to get there except by canoe.

That's God's country up there (over there for me). I haven't been to those areas of NE WI, but spent some time in Door county, which is very nice. We get over to Ashland and Bayfield semi regularly.

    Unfortunately, not really.

But, think about the possibilities for a new pool comprised of youngsters. You know, the Gen Xers you embrace. But don't spend too much time wondering why your parents were just a bit late in their era-forming exercises. Maybe they were busy getting jobs (or job, we ARE talking about the mid-60s and not the 70s or 80s) instead of procreating. And if they were motivated but too young, then that would be on their parents instead of yours.

Anyways, the new pool should be a lot less crowded, and quite frankly with a lot less sense of royalty, but unfortunately the music selection will also be somewhat less. Not that we invented real rock (that was the silent generation) but we embraced it and nurtured it. And if it all sounds too elitist, just wait a while and then you can whack the crap out of our progeny - those tribbles who never seem to know what to do with themselves - the Millennials. Hey, we tried. Okay, maybe we tasked our parenting effort to our staff (our parents) instead of taking it seriously. But still, your time WILL manifest. Patience!!

Civil Engineer with a Masters in Engineering Management and a Doctorate in Procrastination. ...and various minors in enjoying the Gator campus scene.

In one of my grad school years, I did put together a basketball team that won the intramural Engineering School League. In pickup games at Alligator Alley, I had run across a couple of 6'-4"/6'-5" guys that were in engineering programs that could run and finish on a fastbreak (and otherwise play pretty good ball) who I convinced to join up for an engineering school team. As a 5'-8" point guard, I had a blast feeding those guys for numerous buckets as we fast-breaked the somewhat weak competition into the dirt. It wasn't quite  the competition of the open intramural league where a team made up of players from the football team always dominated. I think I heard they don't allow the football players to play intramural basketball anymore.

Door County on summer weekdays is great. Weekends it is overrun.

You can't freakin leave us in the middle of a repeat attempt. What on Gods earth are you thinking? Gear up because we are going to need you next year. Imagine the bad juju you are putting on this team quitting like this.

I expected this from others but from YOU?!?

You resignation is hearby officially denied. See you next season bright and early.
