Have to ask, $4.3 million per year? I find that hard to believe even if he was all-world at georgia. He really seemed like a good HS prospect that had seen his best days. I hope he plays against us and fails miserably.

Kordell Stewart is getting steamed now, but he has a national championship ring to comfort him.

 

Given the track record of former quarterbacks playing against us, he’ll probably throw for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. Hopefully it’s not like Brock Berlin.

 

Not too concerned about Beck, but OTOH, our secondary was vulnerable to our offense in the Spring game. So who knows. I've said systems matter, and maybe miami's is perfect for him.

 

Yeah, hopefully that was just injury related issues and McClain is a lock down corner. We’re going to find out!

 

Que? When did Beck play here? Berlin was here for two years so I get the “former qb” reference, but Beck was never a Gator.

 

Yeah, I’m a bit under the weather so not sure where that reference came from…I was just thinking of other transfer quarterbacks who played well when they played us. Probably should have mentioned cam ward.

You literally said “former quarterback” and referenced Brock Berlin. I don’t know how you stretch that to mean any transfer from anywhere, but ok.

 

In my original post, yes, but I was referring to my response to you. I admitted I was mistaken in my original post. It happens.

 

Ol miss lit our ass up. We just made a few plays when it counted.

 

Jaxson Dart had a bunch of yards but we held them to 3-14 on 3rd down, won the turnover battle, the TOP battle, and outrushed them. We beat a playoff team that pushed all their chips into the portal last offseason, and a QB that will be at worst 3rd QB taken in the draft... with a true freshman QB.

I don't think "lit our ass up and we just made some big plays at the end" is an accurate summary of that. Granted they beat themselves as well, but at the end of the day we beat a team that had the talent to win more than one game in the postseason.

 

Pretty much every qb you play now is a transfer qb

 

Ol miss was good and how many yards did Dart throw for. We made epic plays but will have to do much better to get anywhere near 10 wins. You cant count on making that many epic plays.

 

I just hope we don't play like we did when Zook was the head coach.
