Yeah. Stricklin won’t even force Napier out. We’re screwed.

Final Rankings 2025 from Road to Nationals:

    Standings

Of the 86 collegiate women's team gymnastics programs, the top 10 are the cream of the crop, 11-20 are good, and teams 21-86 are looking up wanting what the better programs deliver on a regular basis.

The SEC is the dominate conference with 6 of the top 10 and 9 of the top 20. I keep hearing rumors that Texas A&M is planning for an SEC program, but I've heard that for 2 years now.

    1 Oklahoma
    2 UCLA
    3 Missouri
    4 Utah
    5 LSU
    6 Michigan State
    7 Florida
    8 Alabama
    9 California
    10 Kentucky

Finished with 80% of my top 10 preseason predictions. Alabama and Kentucky replaced two of my top 10, Arkansas finsished 11 and Denver finished 12.

I only hit on one of the top 4, Oklahoma. My preseason top 4:

    1. Florida
    2. LSU
    3. Oklahoma
    4. California

Hopefully, I'll do better next season.

Good for the Gators to stay and watch what could have been:

Hopefully, watching OU celebrate will be motivation for the 2026 season.

After going on the road in 2025 to Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, and Oklahoma, these teams should be coming to Gainesville in 2026. The Gators should be going on the road to Auburn, Georgia, Kentucky, and Missouri. That's schedule advantage Florida.

Earlier I said I loved gymnastics. I’m gonna rephrase that. I love watching our kids perform gymnastics. I love rooting and cheering for them. I love being on the edge of my seat praying and hoping for their success and the fulfillment of their dreams that they’ve sacrificed so much for their entire lives to try and achieve. All that I love. On the other hand how collegiate gymnastics is governed and judged…I hate it. Hurts to say but our Gator Girls were pretty bad when it mattered most. They didn’t perform anywhere close to the level they needed to to be in the final four. I still got beef with the system however.

There’s a general philosophy in every team sport that I can think of minus gymnastics. That philosophy is we don’t decide who wins or loses based on statistics on a piece of paper. We play the games on the field, court, pitch or ice rink because of the knowledge that any team can beat any other team on any given day. Often the best teams on paper win but a significant percentage of the time they don’t and that’s what makes sports great. Postseason in gymnastics is a JOKE however because unless the favored team lands on their buttocks 3-4 times in one rotation nobody else has a chance. Postseason is/should be the most exciting time of the season in any sport. Apparently gymnastics thinks otherwise and prefers boring and predetermined.

Would the 2008 NY Giants have won the Super Bowl against the Patriots if the NFL operated the same way gymnastics does? Of course not. The Patriots were so good during the regular season we have to give them a free td and fg. The Giants weren’t that impressive in the regular season so we’re going to subtract a fg and safety from their score. Result from that is the favored team wins and the thrill and excitement of postseason is dead. Thank goodness most sports don’t operate the way gymnastics does. I’ll always love and root for our girls but the way it’s governed now is criminal. I’m no expert, I know nothing, I probably am 100% idiot. I’m ok with that.

I understand what you're saying, but do you really believe we deserved to advance Thursday? I don't think we did.

The most memorable moments in sports history are when the unexpected things happen. I’m not a bosox fan but I’ll never forget their comeback in the ALCS against the Yankees. Rare as they are those amazing moments happen in sports. Those moments are possible in sports. Not gymnastics though. To my uneducated eye gymnastics seems specifically designed to take any and all elements of excitement and surprise out of the “postseason “. Number one going in you win plain and simple…as long as you don’t stick landings with your butt a lot.

Our girls had a horrible performance plain and simple. I specifically said that. They absolutely didn’t deserve to advance. That said doesn’t change anything about what I’m talking about.

22,23 robberies I stand with this poster. Why didn’t they win in 22,23? Performance no way. Stupid, ingrained bias is why. Gymnastics doesn’t want excitement and potential magic. It wants hum drum bs. And maybe paychecks from the love family dynasty.
