I could understand an argument for Otis to go either path. Take a year away from the academic grind to enjoy playing a sport she dearly loves. Albeit at $45K per season. Or, start the 7-8 years of medical school needed to become a thoracic surgeon. A profession which, by the time she's done with school, will have an estimated $450K per year entry level income. It'll sure be interesting to follow.
Not going to lie, we honestly would have to REALLY play awful to not get a top 8 spot from now on out. We're number 2 in the RPI right now with 12 top 25 wins right now and 4 top 10 RPI wins and our worst loss is UCF ranked at 32 in the RPI. Also, we have the opportunity to garner more in the next 2 weeks.
We still need to go at least 3-3 against LSU & Oklahoma, IMO. Would be nice to win both series, but they'll have to play really well to do that.
I think We’ve got a good shot. The pitching is coming around and the clutch hits are coming around. If Keagan continues to improve and Red Liv, Eva and Cara hold their own, we’ve got a shot in the circle. Go Gators!
3-3 at least (I’d prefer 6-0 lol) I also think we need a respectable showing in the once irrelevant SEC tournament. I love RPI and ours is great but that metric is becoming dated and replaced by newer metrics. And then there’s always the subjective “eye” test.
Let’s go for two sweeps and hope OK can sweep Tex. That would probably give us outright or share of SEC regular season and #1 seed. There’s going to be a lot of teams beating each other up these next two weeks and I believe 17 wins is going to be the magic number. We probably need 3 wins or 2 wins and win SEC Tournament to get National Seed. BTW, I hope we don’t get #8 because #9 could be Tenn, OK, ARK or LSU.
I’ll NEVER EVER EVER root for ok. If we get the regular season title or a share of it great but if we don’t it’s on us for letting 2-3 games slip away early in the conference season. What matters now is postseason and having the team confidence, momentum and mojo going into it! I think we almost got those things and I’m amped! I don’t like Texas either but I’m a devout NEVER boomer!
I’d love that, we all would but how could she possibly come back? I haven’t heard anything related to that anywhere, ever.
The NCAA is contemplating a 5th year of eligibility for everyone. Came about during the Pavia settlement. Don’t know if it will ever come to fruition, but it was being discussed.
Fifth year for Falby as much as I’d love it isn’t really fair to future generations of Gator softball players lol.

After all the struggles, adversity and slumps our ladies have gone through it’s a testament to the program and CTW that we’re in a really good place right now. I don’t want to split 3-3. I want 4-2 minimum. I want to do what’s needed in the tournament if anything to secure that top 8 seed. Most importantly I want the girls to want what I want X1000. I want to say the team is SOOO close but I suspect they’re already there. Go Gators! It’s go time baby!
