An open question for John Roberts: will he have the courage to support the Constitution and rule of law (including due process), or will he cower before his evil master and support Dimwit Donald Trump? Hello, John Roberts. America’s D-Day is Coming. Whatcha Gonna Do?
the new attempt to bypass habeaus.. ‘Repelling Invasions’: Trump’s Troop Deployment Sparks Outrage The memorandum read, "Military Mission for Sealing the Southern Border of the United States and Repelling Invasions," directs the secretaries of Defense, Interior, Agriculture and Homeland Security "to provide for the use and jurisdiction by the Department of Defense over such Federal lands, including the Roosevelt Reservation and excluding Federal Indian Reservations, that are reasonably necessary to enable military activities." Concerns have arisen regarding the legal implications of the directive, especially potential violations of the Posse Comitatus Act. Under the directive, military personnel can detain individuals attempting to illegally enter the United States on this federal land. American Immigration Council's Aaron Reichlin-Melnick wrote, “Welp they’re doing the Roosevelt Reservation crazy strategy, giving the military ‘jurisdiction’ over a 60-foot-wide stretch of land from CA to AZ and then claim that migrants are being arrested for ‘trespassing on military property’ thus trying to bypass the Posse Comitatus Act.”
& this is why Trump is president...again. dems are for turnstiles at the border & lettin' bio boys kick girls' asses!!
who gets to decide if they are illegal or not? isn't that what we have courts for? or does MAGA get to choose who is illegal or not..forget about the rule of law, go with mob rule?
we had no intention to deport anyone..that statement under oath should put that guy in jail 18 squad cars and a bus to move 28 people.. As legal fight raged, ICE buses filled with Venezuelans heading toward airport turned around, video shows Video from Friday night shows Immigration and Customs Enforcement buses full of Venezuelan migrants headed toward an airport in North Texas before abruptly turning around as the Supreme Court ruled the Trump administration must, for now, refrain from deporting Venezuelan men based in the state under the Alien Enemies Act. At least 28 detainees — most, if not all, understood to be Venezuelan nationals — were placed on buses Friday evening at ICE’s Bluebonnet Detention Center in Anson, Texas, and then driven toward Abilene Airport about 30 miles away. The motorcade — including at least 18 squad cars from various law enforcement agencies with flashing lights along the north Texas highways — left the ICE facility, with some men on board being told they were being deported to El Salvador and some told they were headed to Venezuela, according to the wife of one of the detainees and two lawyers representing other detainees at the facility. Prior to their departure, it was not clear what their destinations would be. The video, obtained exclusively by NBC News, shows the ICE motorcade pass the airport’s exit and then turn around, looping back to return to the Bluebonnet detention facility.
bad arg. shouldn't this decision be made before they cross the border? Do you think the first thing people who sneak in do it go to the courts???? I fail to see how sealing the border is the same as deciding who is & who is not legal.
if they are eligible for immigration due to violence in their countries how is that decided at the border with troops and auto deport with no hearing?
think we are talking about 2 diff things. Sealing the border is sealing the border. eligibility for immigration seems a separate issue, no? If someone runs across the border, who's made the decision of their eligibility?
I do not know. I would prefer the hearing to come first. to me it is like the Aggie theater. They check IDs & whether you have a ticket at the door. You can't just run in & then demand a hearing. are you against sealing the border or just against sealing it in this manner?
