    It’s as if we elected Ricky Bobby to be president. The White House has corporations sponsoring stations at the Easter egg roll. As far as disasters go, this is pretty low on the list, but seriously?

    The White House is for the first time soliciting corporate sponsors for the annual Easter Egg Roll event to be held Monday on the South Lawn. This comes as billionaire tech executives have faced growing criticism for cozying up to the Trump administration.

    CNN first reported earlier this month that the White House had begun courting sponsors for the typically apolitical family gathering, at between $75,000 to $200,000.

    First Lady Melania Trump’s Easter Egg Roll, scheduled for Monday, features corporate sponsors for the first time in the event’s history, among them major Silicon Valley corporations.

    The event — which takes place when egg prices are at record highs and avian flu is spreading through flocks — features a reading nook and photo op sponsored by Amazon; a “Bunny Hop Stage” sponsored by YouTube, which is owned by Google; and an “AI-Powered Experience and Photo Opportunity” sponsored by Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Thread’s parent company, Meta. A “Ringing of the Bell Photo Opportunity” is sponsored by the New York Stock Exchange.

    Sounds like they're going to collect an Easter basket full of money. Who's the recipient of this largesse, I wonder?

    I also wonder which Easter Mass Trump will attend?

    From the deranged Dear Leader who is doing his best to destroy America. Like the proverbial frog in the pot of the gradually boiling water among the Americans who will be suffering the most are the working class voters of MAGA nation who will not realize that he is screwing them over until it's too late.

    what are you talking about? First you complain about his efforts to get rid of DEI and when he's being inclusive of everyone by wishing them a happy easter you complain about that. ;)

    More like a long list of grievances masquerading as an Easter message. The SNL writers could probably use it almost verbatim as a script for a cold opening featuring James Austin Johnson.

    I deleted my account on Twitter the white supremacist, porno lying site, and don't have an account on the Trump grifting site .... so I don't know what hate/drivel he may have spewed this year.

    Here is Trump's 2025 Easter message (above).

    I posted this on the other Easter thread, since that is where people greet and celebrate the holiday, and clearly that's what Trump wanted to do.

    This thread seems more for ..... non-celebratory .... discussion.

    So we can all imagine my surprise when that post was deleted by a moderator; merely the unedited, uncommented upon Easter greeting from our POTUS.

    Yes, it seems that we have a POTUS who is so vile that his very stand-alone greeting on Easter is too vile to be tolerated on a thread celebrating ..... Easter

    You must be so proud, MAGA voters.

    Jo, I agree his comments are vile and do not reflect what I know Christianity to be or what Easter is about. That said, let's let the other thread be a celebration for those to whom it is a sacred day. There's plenty of room to trash him (or let him trash himself) on this and other threads.
