Omg, I have never read a more over the top redic article in my life. I mean yes Golden was a ninja but he has to get 8 good players and then work magic. An easier task no matter how difficult. Either way, not even consider that “getting to the playoffs by (by way of winning the SEC championship) would have literally nobody that I would care to listen to, griping about ridding of ourselves of Napier. Anything that even gets us to the SEC is probably more than enough. obviously i want it all but so does every other team starting the season. Don’t forget how unlikely it is to win championships in both sports. We OWN the record of most with 3 in football and 3 in basketball. That’s MORE THAN ANY SCHOOL in the country. Luckily, I was there for all of them but the last but give me a break with that over the top win the trophy or he’s gone. If that’s the case, he should be gone. I’ll take an SEC Championship and look for a Junior Lagaway championshiop. Win, or even get to the SEC barring injury and his return is certain. Good God. GO GATORS!
3 bacons, 9 agrees. So yes …a bit over the top. The vast majority of Gator Nation thinks the article is BS.
We just want improvement, consistency, acumen demonstrated. Making the SECCG would do it for me. An as good or better record than last season and beating georgia, regardless of the circumstances like who is our QB, would do it for me. Napier is not a miracle worker. To the point about a basketball team having a smaller roster. That's true, no doubt. But a football program staff has so much more resource and staff support. Definitely more to roster-up and coordinate, but the best programs do it and we want to be up there with the better programs. Comparing two different coaches in two different sports would be LAZY journalism at best... and just silly on its face value. Top lump these different two coaches together and demand like wise expectations of success is something a middle school child would try and do for a "book" report back in the '80's. Lol... your turn, Napier. Having said that... I hope Napier gets 10 wins.
You can look at what golden did vis a via Napier 3 ways. First, different sport so totally irrelevant. Second, Golden caught lightning in a bottle. Third, this is what an exceptional coach looks like. I fall between 2 and 3. TG had an exceptional talent in Clayton, but is DJ the same? At the end of the day, the reality is that while that article is simpleton thinking, BN has his team and needs to compete for titles- this year. Great coaches do that by year 4.
