At least 4 have been injured. Shooter opened fire a little over an hour ago at their student union. Shooter is in custody but they are still searching to make sure it is secure.
Supposedly a college aged male with a handgun per an eyewitness being quoted in local news. From some videos I’ve seen it seems to be resolved and police are clearing locked down buildings and sending students the opposite direction from the Student Union / Landis Green / Strozier area. Tallahassee has a whole lot of different law enforcement agencies with a presence, and seems like FSUPD, TPD, LCSO, FDLE, FHP, and the U.S. Marshals Service all responded.
Orlando station apparently reporting 5 dead and 4 wounded. Second hand from one of the 24 hour news channels. I don’t remember which due to my rampant channel flipping.
I saw that, but not sure I believe it given that includes things none of the Tallahassee media are currently reporting (in addition to the different casualty counts, that there were two shooters one who is in custody and one deceased).
Not going to link it in the interest of sensitivity, but a number of prominent Twitter accounts sharing a video of a college-aged male firing a handgun at people running while walking down a sidewalk with what appears to be one injured person laying on it.
And Randy Fine wants more guns on campuses. Thankfully, he's moved on where he can take his nonsense to the national level. Florida Senate committee strikes down bill to allow guns on college campuses
Mocking certain people who truly believe in the power of prayer is not funny... if that's what you were going for.
I think its pretty clear by now the "power of prayer" is no match for a person with a gun. Perhaps those impacted by gun violence wouldnt need it for solace if we as a society chose to do something about it. Seems pretty clear he was mocking the cliched response from the people who could do something about it, but don't/won't.
I'm pretty sure that it is mocking the people who clearly workshopped verbiage for "how do I basically sound like I care about this without really caring or wanting to do anything about it in the only country where this regularly happens." See also "mental health" but never anything deeper than those two words stated over and over again.
