What's going on with Lagway?

Expressing the hope that Gator fans everywhere have: the Lagway will be good to go. Apparently that is a problem for some.

 

There are two factors here. The first is DJs long term health. I’m guessing he is maximizing that and that the staff supports his decisions. Next is the team, and DJ damn sure seems like a team guy who recognizes that football is a violent sport and your career is always one play from ending. I see no reason to question how this has been handled. Hopefully it all works.

Having said that, we are in year 5 of Napier and we need continued upward momentum, regardless of DJ.

 

I have more hope of DJ becoming an elite qb. If so, he can make whatever is written in the book turn into positive offense

 

Most of the board wanted Trask in 2018 over Franks because we had eyes. Our situation now is nothing like that. Lagway is better than Franks, and there is no Trask behind Lagway. No correlation whatsoever.

 

Callaway isn’t calling plays. “Real OC” isn’t a thing. He helps gameplan and the title is for a raise. The offense and playcalling are Billy’s. It will always be Billy’s while he is here. Y’all have no evidence of a “real OC” other than hopes and dreams. Stop this.

 

It’s the same offense. Callaway is in the same role he was last year outside of a pay raise. It’s Billy’s offense. It will always be Billy’s offense. Billy has proven over and over again he is and will call plays until he is let go.

 

We’ve completed 3 seasons under Billy — that would put us in year 4 right?

 

I was told there would be no math

 

It just feels like an eternity. haha.

 

I am having doubts that DJ will ever see the field.

 

I do not want to believe that because it would mean our HC is playing the fan base regardless of the obvious need for some creative infusion. So really, I don't believe it. I have to doubt that Napier would be pulling the wool over our eyes that way, as if he told Callaway, you can be OC but you have to call plays as I would, you have to run my offense, and I approve the plays you call for down and distance. I hope you are incorrect, honestly.

What I believe I saw last season was Napier hardly engaged on the sideline play to play, mumbling occasionally in his headset, which I found odd. For a guy being called the play caller, it didn't seem like he was that involved. Who knows, right?

 

So, Captain Obvious is turning into Captain Eeyore? Okay...

 

That’s exactly what he does when we are on D. He likes calling the play and walking away from the play on offense.
