Swiss Drugmaker Novartis to Invest $23 Billion to Expand US Manufacturing, Operations | The Epoch Times

Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis announced on April 10 that it will invest $23 billion over the next five years to expand its U.S. manufacturing and research operations.

The planned expansion includes four new manufacturing sites in states to be determined, two facilities for cancer-treatment radioligand therapy (RLT) in Florida and Texas, and a new biomedical research hub in San Diego, California. Three existing RLT plants—in California, Indiana, and New Jersey—will also be expanded. The company expects to create nearly 1,000 direct jobs and around 4,000 additional U.S. jobs through the buildout

Last month, Johnson & Johnson said it would invest more than $55 billion across the United States over four years. The company broke ground on the first of four new facilities—a $2 billion biologics plant in Wilson, North Carolina—which is expected to create thousands of jobs and boost local manufacturing capacity.
Both announcements come amid increased pressure from the Trump administration for drugmakers to scale up domestic operations.

Trump just keeps putting America first and keeping his promises

Call us when they break ground. Still waiting on Foxconn and TSMC and John Deere (oh wait, they actually closed US manufacturing and moved more to Mexico) from the first administration.

All they need to do is wait-out this idiot and his "wheel-of-tariffs".

So the Trumpets are back to giddily cheering every time some company makes a hire? Yawn.

I also heard McDonalds hired some new people. Thanks Glorious Rape-Father!

Exactly what my gambling buddy says. LOL

Not disputing the news. Celebrate Hyundai building a $5B steel plant while denouncing Nippon Steel's offer to save US Steel for $14B. Thought we're trying to keep manufacturing jobs in the US. What am I missing?

Meh. Neither OP, nor Epoch Times, nor ........ anyone in MAGA ...... has any interest in the rational presentation and embracing of facts, and thus not in honest, rational discussion. Such as manufacturing that left the US, decisions made that didn't favor the US, or even presenting anything accurately.

So no, no pat on the back if some MAGA possibly reported accurate facts this time ..... when the sum of their movement can accurately just be described as lying and gaslighting. The expectations of rational discourse work both ways.

TSMC actually broke ground on multiple semiconductor manufacturing plants near Phoenix ... during the Biden Administration.

Do you really think J&J broke ground on a $2B plant in March whose planning started after the November election?

Spoiler alert: It was approved in October 2024 after months of planning

I'm a little confused. All the people that are against Trump and tariffs (assuming one goes with the other) are OK with some other countries human beings making a nickel an hour so I can buy my iPhone cheaper but they DON'T want those jobs moved here because what, the iPhone will be more expensive or you don't think American workers should be paid a nickel an hour? Or, you don't care and just want Trump to fail at everything he does?

Another five-year plan? Lol... I hope these companies aren't trying to curry favors for their home country by "promising" billions of dollars in investment in the U.S. for a great trade deal right now.

No ONE should count that "promise" as part of any trade deal with Switzerland. If they were going to make a big investment deal then do it right now rather than later, or that should NOT be part of the trade negotiations.

As a reminder, Switzerland has completely eliminated industrial tariffs already. So what are we negotiating again?

I'm onboard with getting crucial manufacturing back on US soil regardless of the company's global origin. This is good for national security.
