The Republican candidate does not want the appeal to cover Republican counties.

There were two recounts. The Democratic candidate won in both of those recounts. The Republican candidate is now trying to do something that will win him the election and, possibly, set a precedent on a nationwide basis.

if they challenge voter registration, the challenge should be statewide

has anyone requested that all voters under that definition be challenged?

‘I’m Troubled’: State Supreme Court Delivers Blow to Recount Effort

The North Carolina Supreme Court has temporarily blocked a lower court ruling requiring a recount of over 65,000 votes in the 2024 state Supreme Court race. This allows the court to review an appeal from the Democratic candidate. NBC reported that a machine recount as well as a partial hand recount revealed Riggs leading Griffin by more than 700 votes.

the winner is not gonna ask for any sort of recount. There have already been two, and she has been declared the winner. The loser is a cheat. If he wasn’t, he would ask for a statewide recount, which should be rejected by a reasonable court because there already have been 2?recounte and now the loser is trying to change the rules. It is conceivable, that the court could respond to the current lawsuit by the loser by agreeing to a statewide recount. However, again, that seems inappropriate, considering the 2 recounts that have already occurred and that we’re now heading towards six months or so after the election.

looks like it is down to 2k - 7k voters tbd

North Carolina Republicans might just get away with stealing an election | Opinion

The question is what will happen to more than 65,000 votes that Griffin is challenging.

On April 11, the state Supreme Court ruled that 60,000 of those votes couldn't be thrown out – a win for voting rights and for Riggs. On the other hand, anywhere from 2,000 to 7,000 overseas and military voters could have their votes thrown out if voters don't cure their ballots within 30 days.
