He has gotten a lot of criticism, but he deserves a ton of credit for this. Brilliant hire.

If DJ ends up saving Billy and the football program turns around, Scott will have had a pretty nice reversal of fortune.

Regardless, he deserves some of the glory today. Maybe a career saving season for our AD.

Coach Golden's success should untie Stricklin's fate from Napier's. No new president is going to come in here swinging an ax at the man who hired the man.

I’m not concerned about other college jobs, but I just hope he doesn’t have interest in the nba.

How many more titles do you think we can squeeze out of him before then? 5? 6? I’m not greedy, so I’m fine if it’s only 5.

I HAVE to give him credit. I have never seen anyone come back from the brink like this guy did.

He should really talk to Billy before going down that road. I think Billy’s heart is still in Gainesville.

While I do think NBA coach life is tough, I don’t think Billy would redo his jump. He said when he left that the challenge was out there, and he had to give it a shot. Without any insider info, I can see a similar kind of competitive wonder in Golden.

I am sure Gainesville holds a special place in Billy’s heart, but I don’t think he has any regrets about the road traveled. Several years ago I spoke with his dad, who said Billy was “loving coaching in the NBA”.

I love that BD's dad is still very much involved with the program. Donovan talked about how appreciative he is of UF for including his father so much. Know they gave him tickets and let him travel with the team to San Antonio.

I am waiting to watch the game as I am in Morocco. I read 2 aeticles of interest.
Kyle Smith was quoted in the NY Times as stating, "Todd Golen will be coaching in the NBA."
An Australian Fox article explained that Alex Condon has a plan B position waiting for him with the Magpies in AFL B league. They believe he will not return when the NBA calls.

Keeping CTFG as long as possible should be Stricklin's first task.

Stricklin’s rep sure has made a 180 since the “vote of confidence” in early November!

He deserves a ton of credit.

I think Billy is probably glad he took on the challenge but there have been no championships in the NBA and I don’t think anything has come close to those experiences he had in Gainesville. Of course he’s going to say he loves coaching in the NBA…what else could he say?

he could say, “I miss the college game and want to return” . . . And he would instantly have his pick of opportunities..

I don’t think you want to say that when your employer is paying you a multimillion dollar contract. I’m sure he enjoys coaching in the NBA but hard to believe he would consider it his greatest joy. I admit I do not know him personally so who knows.
