It would take years, perhaps decades to ensure better health in the next generation, my plan … Rather than banning prescription drug ads, I would only allow the manufacturers to list side effects while also banning the happy people and choreography in the street.
We can never know for sure what part of our genetics will be evolutionary advantageous in the future. We shouldn’t touch this with a ten foot poll.
The world of horse racing does selective breeding. It's often more lucrative than the racing itself. But even if the broad and mare are champions, no guarantee their offspring will ever win. And plenty of champions have also-rans as parents.
I'm not very smart, but wouldn't handing out $5m per "gifted child" just contribute to the growing wealth disparity that is allowing leaders to easily divide us?
You can always find exceptions, but it's not the rule. The vast majority of horse racing champions come from champion breeding. Back to humans, you typically you will inherit whatever chronic or genetic diseases that your parents have. Honestly, I think it's cruel for people with certain chronic diseases to reproduce. You are robbing that kid of opportunities and in many cases even a decent life. I would actually argue that in some cases, it is completely selfish of the parents. The moral thing is to not have the child. Despite my more aggressive and lambastic tone on here, I'm a pretty reserved guy in real life. In fact I've had multiple people tell me they think I would go a good father. In many ways I would be. I would let a child of mine be who are they are try to expose them to a variety of activities and interests. I wouldn't try to force a child of mine to like certain things and, as they get older, I wouldn't try to force them down a specific career path (I would be the last type to try to force a child to take over the family business over their own wishes, for example) and wouldn't try to force them to only date specific types of people. With all that said, and many saying I would be a good father, with my conditions it would be the ultimate selfish act. To force a child to endure pain and chronic conditions such as blood pressure problems, severe allergies/asthma, anxiety or gastro issues that can cause the above asthma to act up. I would never want a child who would have to suffer through the post nasal drip issues I have had (and yes they are severe, it can be like a waterfall when it really acts up, constant coughing). Even though I would have liked kids, I know that my genetics need to die. I know that my genetics weren't suitable to reproduce. To say it's made dating difficult is an understatement. Yet what choice do I have? People like me shouldn't reproduce, and in my opinion it's the ultimate act of selfless act. While those who have kids, screw their genetics probably screwing up the child's life, I think that is the ultimate selfish act.
Some slave owners practiced selective breeding.....Wonder how many All Americans are descendants of this breeding?
It would encourage those with great genetics to seek out others with great genetics and reproduce. Currently our society is the opposite, we truly discourage many wealthier or healthier people from reproducing due to the cost. It is economic insanity for many in the middle class to have kids currently. Meanwhile, our poor and less able-bodied people are encouraged to have kids, so they can get on food stamps, medicaid and other government programs. We are genuinely encouraging the worst people to reproduce, and as a result are becoming a less intelligent, less able-bodied society. We are encouraging those already struggling to have kids, guaranteeing the cycle of poverty. People with great genetics might not coming from families with wealth. I agree that it could produce a society like the movie Gattaca, where those who have inferior genetics are second class citizens. I do not think our society would go that far, but I know it could cause a wealth gap. The goal eventually would be to slowly but surely, probably over several hundred years, to eliminate almost all inferior genetics. To have a more healthy society of what would be almost "super humans". Eventually you would have a society where everyone is truly equal, both in opportunities and abilities. Never mind just think about it, an end to almost all disease. Diabetes, Heart Problems, Lung Problems, all wiped out. Does that not sound like a better society than what we have now?
My point exactly. It could be one of the biggest reasons why African-Americans, by and large, are typically much more athletic than their White counterparts. Even with years of training and nutrition, there are hardly any White males out there, even in the NBA, who could make the dunk that Alijah Martin made last night. That wasn't basketball skill, that was superior strength from superior genetics. Male or Female, many blacks in that 18-22 range just look naturally far more muscular and strong that their White counterparts. In reality it should be the opposite, since Whites typically have more access to coaches, training and nutrition on average. The difference very well could be that the black athletes came from elite breeding 100 - 200 years ago, whereas whites came from mediocre breeding. That could essentially prove my case.
My post was really more in jest....I'm not saying that selective breeding wouldn't possibly lead to a super athlete but I think the differences in races is more due to long term breeding. There are differences in the different races. You almost never see a black swimmer on a swimming team, could possibly be due to blacks bone structure generally being more dense than whites.
You people are beyond sick. Thanks Dr. Ploetz, but no thanks. We have read your diary and it was just as nauseating then as your post is now. You want to create you little in-bred Master Race, knock yourself out. I am sure you and Elon Apartheid can work out the details without government funding.
And there comes the racism angle when I didn't mention race at all. You are so predictable. Heck I spent half this topic talking about how many blacks have superior athletic genetics than whites. The genetics here are what is important. I could care less if it's an inter racial couple, a white couple, a hispanic couple, a black couple. I could care less if the superior genetics mean that 90% of society is then non-white. Society would be better and people would be able to live far better and happier lives without any threat of disease. But yes, wanting a world where people don't have heart issues, where people don't have type 1 diabetes, where people don't have lung and pulmonary diseases, yes I'm so diabolically evil. I don't care what you think. When it comes to this topic, I am right and you are wrong. You don't happen to work for big pharma do you? I could see where my proposal would scare you, this society puts big pharma out of business.
There will always be an underclass no matter how much you "tighten up" the gene pool. Somebody's got to lose, and those losers must either be valued and included in societal goals or they will operate outside of and ultimately against them. Doesn't matter if they're today's autistics and manic depressives or tomorrow's mere, stunted 6 footers with comically inadequate 15 inch micropenises.
I don't think there's any danger of that happening. Prostitutes and AI girlfriends are hard to knock up.
Assuming you aren’t trolling - which I won’t de facto assume, what is your plan to address that 80-90% of adults will be disqualified from procreating, resulting in a severe population collapse?
Not to mention anarchy and violence such as the world has never before seen. It's one thing to fill a single incel or transgender nutjob full of lead at a school, but when 80-90% of the population is pigeonholed as such, nothing short of nuclear annihilation is going to save the pretty folks, and they'll die too because radiation doesn't care what you look like.
Instead of worrying about genes just get everyone bad ass cybernetics. Don’t have to worry about heart disease with a machine heart! Regular nanobot checks can keep cancer under control. Etc. everyone’s a winner when your robot feet can let you dunk from mid court.
Can’t, I’m allergic. Can’t have a cat either, highly allergic to them. Thank you trash family genetics for taking something else away from me. Just proving my point of this entire topic.
