Anyone can say what they want about who is the greatest basketball player that’s ever played at the University of Florida. Walter Clayton Junior is the greatest that’s ever played at the University of Florida. You can bring anybody you want to the table, but you’re wrong. Clayton is the greatest Gator if you’re gonna argue with that just stop it.
I will be 67 in September of this year and was born in the Alachua General in Gainesville. I have been going to Gator games listening and watching Gator games as far back as I can remember. I had said he was one of the best but after tonight I will just go ahead and say he is the greatest Gator basketball player I have ever seen play.
So so clutch - Clayton! Maybe not the right place But Richard seems to up his game when we need it most & he did in this game too IMO
I am not going to pass judgment on whether Clayton is the best player ever to play at Florida, but I do think you might have to go back to Bill Walton‘s 43 point national title game on 21–22 shooting to find a college player who has played as good a final four game as Clayton played tonight.
I don't even have the words to describe the pleasure it's been to watch him play ball for UF. What a ride it's been
If all the talking heads had waited until the season was over before anointing Broome or Flagg the Player of the Year, Walter would be the guy.
