Auburn money got to the refs. Check has cleared. Going to be a tough night for the team in the correct O&B. I have absolutely zero proof of this but it seems plausible!
It warrants a look. There were some really bad no calls, blatantly bad and the refs swallowed the whistle.
I hope Houston wins, because you know Flagg is going to get the Broome treatment. Can't call fouls on superstars.
I’ve only watched a few of their games, but Houston reminds me of TAMU. They foul non stop at both ends of the court. That generally means they’re gonna get away with about 80% of them, and then your team will get called for touch fouls while the refs try their best to keep the calls even. That’s not how it should be, but generally how it is.
Florida has to be tougher with the ball then and not have those lazy passes that can lead to turnovers. They will have to play through contact when on offense.
Refs were abysmal. So one sided... calls/non-calls for almost every possession in the second half went Auburn's way.
Some blatant no-calls, though by letting them play a more physical game it may have worn down Broome and the tigers. Continually impressed how Florida wears teams down.
These guys were terrible. I don’t think biased, but they did miss a ton of calls in Auburn’s favor, particularly in the 2nd half. Here’s my favorite moment of the game. Broome drives in and is fouled by Condon, but before that, Haugh is held so that he can’t run out and defend. It’s an obvious foul, that is completely ignored. Golden asks for a review for a Flagrant 1. He knows it’s not a Flagrant 1. He knows that when the refs don’t change the call, he will be charged a timeout. He doesn’t care. He is willing to sacrifice a timeout to make them gather at the monitor and see how badly they’re messing up. I think it worked. I think the reffing was much more even from that point.
