All I know is he went to two doormats and made them relevant in the win column. Plenty of head coaches out there that would never have the success that he had Jackson St or Colorado but their coaching acumen doesn’t get questioned
How generous of him. He then complained how the players are making their money and the mobility of young players. LIS, a $130M hypocrite.
Sure, he's still a hypocrite and the issue is everyones fault except the players. If he doesn't want to be a hypocrite he first needs to address the runway cost of coaches salaries. To set a precedent, how about we start with a $5M salary cap for coaching staffs. Then we can address the players pay... I'm sure he'd go for something like this and prove me wrong about being a hypocrite.
Hypocrite has nothing to do with it, coaches salaries arent creating the havoc. Most everyone has no problem with players getting paid. The coaches nor players created this, its the schools.
Being a hypocrite has everything to do with it. When you have a $130M contract and bitch about how and how much others are making, your bitching is two faced and immaterial. If players mobilty needs to be limited so does everyone's (coaches & athletic department) in the industry.
Yep, and the good players make alot more than the coaches- interesting. The thing with the NFL and all profesional sports leagues is player compensation is collectively bargained. The players tried to negotiate, but everyone, including the coaches, told the players to pound sand. The players finally went to court and this is what we ended up with. For the last time, this is 100% on the universities, NCAA and coaches. We could start a thread on this. Maybe even in Too Hot- that would be fun, lol. Anyway, back to X posts in this thread.
I think the coaches have little influence on the players situation. Its the university and booster that have created this mess.
Sports agents didn’t create the problem but they have certainly helped accelerate the process to the point of insanity. Only thing that can rein in some of these outrageous salaries and payouts is rules and regulations. But who is going to come up with such and who would enforce them? It seems hopeless to me.
I don’t think you’ll see much for rules and regs until there’s an employer-employee relationship. The courts won’t allow any type of caps. The courts aren’t letting them restrict movement. Hell, they’re barely letting them restrict eligibility. I don’t see much changing for the better until there’s a cba, and that won’t happen until the players are employees.
