I am sure he gets to eat the happy meal. But I am afraid the $5 has to go to support his family and "friends."
It’s best he starts over, albeit with a smaller school. Get experience and his confidence back. If he doesn’t, good luck! Money hungry guidance at the beginning of the NIL has derailed him. Hope he can gather some humility and learn what it takes to be a good team-mate. His brain probably won’t let him, we will see. Best thing other than smaller school choices is he should walk-on near his home of Northern California. Earn it, fans might even cheer for him.
Poor kid's parents have absolutely hurt him. He should have been happy with that ASU bicycle contract....at least he was getting PT there. I wonder how he likes the WKU Nil.
Portal and NIL can be brutal in both directions. Hope UF / Napier are not subject to punishment vis vie the lawsuit.
Bowling Green is home to the National Corvette Museum and is a nice small city…not a haven for NIL dollars though Homepage
This is almost guaranteed to settle now. I kinda doubt Napier (and thus UF) wants any discovery material in the public record. Expect crickets for the fanbase on this topic unless by some miracle it goes past the discovery phase.
So who screwed up? If BN was part of this, does this not indicate a lack of good judgment that if settle will cost millions. QB is saying we promised what 14 mil and then reneged. The fact that this is going forward seems as if there is smoke.
There were numbers in the articles, but don't remember there being a set number the lawsuit was attempting to recover. Lawsuits move forward with almost no chance of a victory all the time, so I don't know that signifies anything. I have little doubt Coach was more involved than he should have been, as was every other coach in the country. I expect a settlement at some point, but they're not going after the deepest pockets (UF), they're going after the lawyer, Napier, and maybe ?Hathcock? Those guys may not offer the type of settlement the Rashada camp is hoping for.
Sure, but apparently there was enough there to move forward. Unless everything in this deal was as pure as the driven snow (ha!), then I doubt BN and others want discovery materials in the public record. Unless the judge seals it when dismissing the suit, that is where it ends up. Despite whatever the idiotic NCAA's rules where, I sure hope he was intimately involved regarding who was going to be on his team. Agreed, but UF has sovereign immunity. Other than the lower level staffer, UF is the most shallow pocket.
