To be fair, the excluded nations of Russia, NK, Iran, etc - are already under tons of sanctions, but since we're putting tariffs on imports from penguins, it seems we could have at least put equally symbolic, idiotic tariffs on those nations, too. Seems excluding them sends more of a message, regardless of efficacy.
And that’s why I bought more NVIDA and BA today as well as some pharma that have been kicked due to fear. close on Amazon also
He’ll do it by framing it as a win. Some will believe that he won, whatever it is that he says he win, because he’s the self-described greatest negotiator. Some will reject his “win” because. But I cannot imagine he maintains such a colossally destructive course of action for any length of time.
Kinda my fear as well. The other tariffs he waffled on weren't delived at a Press Conference on a newly named day that was to get him chisled onto Mt. Rushmore. They just kinda happened quietly without fanfare. Easy to change course. I don't see how his narcissism lets him back off of this.
A couple million dollars more than we import from the penguins or the US military base that both got tariffed.
What an outstanding party platform! Crash the economy, alienate our allies, suck up to our adversaries. Way to go gop!
He won't admit it and it won't matter to his cult. Hell, he's basically now saying that his last trade agreement with Canada sucked but his supporters are fine with that.
I don't think it matters anymore. I'm sure the market would recover some, but the roller coaster is in motion. Until Trump is out of office I don't forsee a recovery.
Sums up Trump's dishonest idiocy pretty well. I assume everyone here now understands that Trump's chart claiming tariffs charged by other countries was really just trade imbalance. Topping the trade imbalance, the country that Trump claims is cheating the US the most - Lesotho. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/03/opinion/trump-tariffs-formula-global-economy.html
Probably because I've been a good boy this year, the company I own the most stock in, Ford Motor, is up today. And has been up all week. They announced employee pricing to counter tariffs, maybe that's it.
