According to his wife Donna, he passed away in his sleep last night around 11 pm. It was from kidney failure. He will be cremated and there will be a memorial service in Waycross GA in a few weeks according to Donna. She will let me know the date and time when it is finalized. I told her of everyone's comments and the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from everyone here at GC and she was very appreciative.
Condolences to his family. Although I never met David I felt like I knew him. I really enjoyed his posts about his granddaughter Iris.
Totally agree, never met him in person but talked on the phone and zoom many times. I told him I felt like an "uncle" to Iris having watching her grow up all these years through her videos that he posted.
Growl was a pillar of this site for over 2 decades. He is one of the reasons many of us became mods and he called so many of the shots here. His fingerprint is all over this place. I will miss him very much.
