Not quite. His ceiling would have to be in the 9.9 range to have a pro career. He could be an asset to UF's 4x100 relay team but not as much as he'll be to UF football. J'van gives immediate depth to UF's secondary and could be a game changer as a return specialist from day-one.
Well Big Dez probably would burn through the hundred in 25 seconds (assuming no heart attack or bowel movement, both concurrently) rather than 10.4. He weighs three and a half times what Flowers weigh so if you divide 25 seconds by 3.5 then we have a new world record 100M.
Just checked out his highlights and he looks like the real deal. Definitely a weapon as a returner and I want to see him light someone up on a corner blitz.
“The Florida Gators' most recent punt block came in their game against Louisiana-Lafayette on November 10, 2012, when Loucheiz Purifoy blocked a punt with 13 seconds left, and Jelani Jenkins returned it 36 yards for a touchdown.”
I am from N. Fla. I had a cousin that went to Pensacola high school, Scooter Odom, a halfback. 1969. I tackled him at least once during Leon high School v s Pensacola, good people. Of course that was the year Leon won the largest classification 3A championship.
G…it all depends on DJ. If he excels..we win. If he is sturdy and can play effectively in all our games..we win. If injuries plague him…tough times. If he cannot exploit all passing zones..tough times. We have the tools..o line, dline..linebackers..young but talented d backs..speedy receivers in abundance. The straw that stirs the drink is DJ. No DJ? NO BUENO.
