S&P down another 2% today. It's been an all around terrible week for Trump. And next week a bunch of new tariffs kick in and other countries retaliate. Trump is losing support. WSJ is slamming him and even Fox news is getting critical of him. It's painful for the country but all Dems can do is continue to stay out of Trump's way and let his incompetence, ignorance and corruption do its thing. It's going to get bad, but nothing can be done about it until 2026. The damage was actually done back in November when the country voted for Trump. This is just the inevitable aftermath of that.

Sounds logical, but some of the cost of the tariffs is being priced into the cars already. Carmakers are aware that people want to buy cars ahead of the tariffs, so they are adding some of that into the cost of a car. They believe (justifiably) that they may start losing money after the tariffs kick in and they don't sell very many cars, as people hold on to what they have. There is no such thing as an affordable car while Trump is still in office. The people that bought a car while Biden was in office are the ones sitting pretty right now, just like the homeowners who bought a house before 2022 when the interest rates went up.
Another side effect of the Trump tariffs: car insurance rate hikes. As the cost of a new car goes up, the cost to insure cars will go up. Another example of Trump-flation.

We're talking about the economy, not the Constitution. Stay on topic. And yes, Trump may be sacrificing future economic growth for current growth- after all, net car purchasing is limited. But then, we saw him do the same scam with deficit funded fiscal stimulus. People actually thought he had done something legitimate for the economy. Can you imagine anyone knowing so little about this stuff that they'd fall for Donald Trump’s scams?!
