    It’s a bit misleading.

Clayton got fouled on two 3 pt attempts.

UF was driving to the hoop a lot and drawing fouls getting 2 shots.

Plus we made our 1 and 1. They missed some of theirs.

Quite a few of our fouls were non shooting fouls so they didn’t get the attempts.

Exactly. I was arguing with a Mizzou fan about that. They strictly showed the FT shot discrepancy saying UF got all of the calls but I was like you can't say that when the fouls were called pretty evenly at 18 for Tech and 16 for UF. Like you said, the difference was Tech fouled us a lot while shooting and we didn't do the same.

I don’t think we can overstate the importance of making 25/27 free throws! :ninja3:

I didn't have winning a game by making the free throws on my bingo card.

That shot will go down as one of the greatest in Florida history. No doubt about it.

Yep. I never understand when people say "the best team didn't win". Well then why do we keep score?

One of the dumbest cliches in sports.

Even rewatching the highlights made me feel that when we were down that this was over.
Amazing run with 7 minutes left.
Always thought it would be football shaving years off of my life, but here we are.
Between Clayton and Haugh they led the team.
Really would like more from Martin and Richard next game. We need you guys.

The inverse of this would be "why do we play series to decide championships?"
The reason you play several games is on the chance that the team that is worse has a lucky night, a series gives a chance for the better team to prove it over several games and let the averages play out in case the first game was an outlier.

Im not saying one approach is right and another is wrong. There are merits and detractions from both. Ive experienced both first hand in auto racing. I've gone for championships decided by a series and a single pass. AND I think if it was a series, Florida would sweep the remaining games even if they lost this first one. So I don't think TT is the better team

But lets not pretend its just a cliche and there aren't entire leagues built around series and the idea that a single game's score can be an outlier.

TT had its best 3-point shooting game in the tournament. They also obviously saved Chance McMillan for this game to try to create a psychological edge and additional depth.

We took too long to take shots this game. I think our average is within the first 12 seconds of the shot clock. In this game, we were averaging the last 10 seconds.

I took it more as Barkley was saying Texas Tech played a better game. They didn't. They lost. The team that plays the best game is the team that wins.
