100% this.... While I am not a fan of the staff, my critique with the program as a whole is the lack of administrative support. We shop at discounted rates, we are going to continue with mediocre results. The school needs to back this program. WBB is a growing sport, and let's face it the #1 sport that a lot of us would like to see finally rise to the level of all our other programs.

 

I agree more resources need to be poured into the WBBasketball program, its actually amazing in some seasons past how they have found success, especially when there has been some very good teams over the years, but lack things such as better coaching, quality depth off the bench etc. I watch the Women's team whenever I can. Easily the only UF sports program who has yet to sustain themselves, seeming to always take a step forward, then two steps back. Them making it to the WBIT Final Four is amazing, and am positive this is only continuing to motivate them and only make them want more. Really would love if they bring the WBIT championship home. GO GATORS!!!

 

We need a really good portal class. A championship of any kind would probably enhance our odds there.

 

Coach Finley is following jasmine shavers from TTU and amarachi kimpson from UNLV. Two scorers that had nice games against us. They are both in the transfer portal fwiw. I’m sure there are other targets but I can see based off these two that coach finley is looking for players who can score and play fast. I wouldn’t mind a shooter/senior leader type player like Alli Campbell from PSU too.

 

I think we can land kimpson and that’s filling a need we definitely have. She has the tools to be a good two way player for us who can put quick points on the board and disrupt the other team.

There were a few others I knew we liked but they have committed elsewhere so I won’t mention but one was 6’6 and another was a SF/W type
