TTech is a really good team and beat Houston on there home floor without toppin this year so we will have our hands full, that being said there isn’t a team out there that gators can’t beat

Yes, I thought so too but I did see him smiling and joking a bit. I think winners like Walt want to win in the worst way, no matter how it occurs.

I'm going to chalk the sloppy 1st half up to nerves, travel, and all that goes with a Sweet 16 game. Sightseeing, interviews, new venue...

Golden was looking tired in the PC. He had a lot of extra stuff to deal with being back in SF. Winning tournament games is new to him. I hope he learned a lesson and has the team rested and relaxed tomorrow night. Can't have any more bad halves.

1st NCAA tournament we ever made. We had that Syracuse game and blew it in the last 2 minutes. Just couldn't handle Rony Seikaly.

I remember at the time that Gators team was better than I could have ever imagined. We had Maxwell, Moten, Montgomery, Joe Lawrence knocking down threes and we added the big fella Schintzius. How could UF basketball get any better?

I know it's water under the bridge, but that hook and hold on Reece -

How did the official staring right at it from 6 feet away not call a foul?

He hook, held, and slung Chinyelu with enough force to practically whip Chinyelu off his feet. I also don't understand how that wasn't an F2. That type of force applied to a situation the league is trying to eliminate (H&H) is most certainly "excessive" - the differentiating factor between an F1 and an F2.

I think that he knew it was a flagrant foul but wanted a replay to see if it was a 1 or a 2. You can review for things like this without a foul being called on the floor. Happens all the time with high contact.

But they can't add a regular personal foul at that point if it is deemed to not be a flagrant. Call the foul, then review it and upgrade. It was a foul.

But from the ref's body language I was 100% sure he was going to call a flagrant foul. Which flavor was to be determined.

True. Maybe he was going to call the hook and hold on us. LOL.

    Lol. All true.

Wouldn't that have qualified for an F2? If that wasn't excessive, I'm not sure what is.

I'm not upset or anything, just seeking to understand.

Well I'm upset. He got by with grabbing and holding and pushing . . . even shoving after a play was over . . . all night.

Plus the coach who won it all in '74 while breaking UCLA's 88 game winning streak. Of course, with the NCAA and the SEC refs running interference for Kentucky, we'll never know what they could have accomplished.
