Michigan looks done. Just not enough offense. Michigan State will have to play much better than they did vs Miss if they have a chance to beat Auburn.
I think Tennessee can play with Houston and possibly win that game but I'm not sure Michigan St is good enough to beat Auburn, especially with how they looked against Miss. They need to play a lot better to have a shot.
Horrible no call. I'm all for not blowing the whistle at the end of the game unless it's an egregious foul, but that absolutely was one and had to be called.
I would be hard pressed to remember a tournament I watched where I felt the refs were the direct cause of the endings of so many games, especially this sweet 16. Wow. The tech game, the Ole Miss game and now this.
And its not like the gators games have been called exceptionally well either, they just played through the lopsided contact standard allowed. But Queen getting away with blatant holding all night last night could have really bit us if we ended up in a game like Tech/Ole Miss etc.
I don't think so. 2008 was the only year ever that 4 #1 seeds were in the Final Four. NC beat 3 seed Louisville, Kansas beat 10 seed Davidson, Memphis beat 2 seed Texas and UCLA beat 3 seed Xavier. In fact, it could be argued that Texas Tech should have been the 2 seed instead of St. Johns this year and then every region would be 1 vs 2. The final 8 teams this year are all ranked in the top 9 in Kenpom. Texas Tech is ranked 9.
If the tournament ends the same way their regular season did, they'll lose Sunday and still win the championship.
Are the Final Four matchups determined by overall seeding, e.g., would we play Auburn in the semifinals if we both make it? Or are we predestined from the start to play the regional champion of a set other region?
Tennessee's defense is elite, and allows them to beat any team if they get enough offense. I really hate playing them. Ole Miss, even in a loss, showed the nation what we've been telling them for months; yes, the SEC really IS that good.
Houston vs Tennessee should be.. fun? Do the refs even bring a whistle or just let them beat each other to death?
Probably not likely, but there's a chance for an all-SEC Final Four. It would be like a deja vu SEC Tourney.
Oh I'm not saying Tennessee is great, I just meant they play a similar style to Houston. Both teams foul on every possession, but you can't call it every trip. I think Houston out bullies them and give Ziegler problems all night.
https://kenpom.com/ This is incredible. The top 7 teams in Kenpom are all in the Elite 8. The 8th is TTU at #9 Makes it pretty easy to fill in a bracket
