No more bikini nights? Is nothing sacred? So much for stimulating our youth to have babies. The so-called “breastaurant” is attempting to overhaul its image, too, according to Kiefer. Infamous for its scantily clad waitresses in bright orange hot pants and revealing baby tees and tank tops, the eatery is now undergoing a PG revamp. “You go to some parts of the country and people say, ‘Oh, I could never go to Hooters, my wife would kill me,'” Kiefer said. “That’s depressing to us. We want to change that.” Please don't. Hooters will institute a 're-Hooterization' with a big change to restaurants
Have very fond memories of Daren dalton , Lenny dykstra, Lynn Austin and various others back in original hooters Clearwater times. Oh those were the days.
I know I'm dating myself but saying that customers come to Hooters for the wings is analogous to saying that one read Playboy for the articles.
I genuinely used to really love their breaded wings. I felt people were suspicious about my sincerity, but there are strip clubs near me that I don't frequent (not to mention beaches with tons of bikinis), and I wouldn't eat what I consider bad wings just to see some women in shorts and tank tops. The first thing I thought about here on the legal front is if they're no longer going to sexualize waitresses and are moving away from the breast theme, seems to me that it would undercut arguments they have made in the past that being a woman is a bona fide occupational qualification to be a server there. Maybe they will go with a conservative, trad wife theme and put them in long dresses and aprons. They could call it Maiden's Pantry or something.
a couple key points from the article….. “According to past reports, Hooters faced financial challenges as foot traffic in the eatery decreased.” Already, the chain has closed multiple locations across the nation, according to The Independent. Last year, 40 restaurants shuttered,” why are they losing business? It seems these sports bars with hot waitresses don’t do as well as they once did.
I was wondering that, too. We had a Twin Peaks here that didn't make it either. But I'm not sure those things have anything to do with the outfits/sexualization of servers or other dynamics. It would be interesting to compare how those places have fared relative to other types of sports bars.
You have full access to the most niche porn at the tip of your fingers, what is the point of these places now?
The last time I ate at a Hooters was after me and some friends got lost on a bike trail for hours ... we hadnt eaten a thing since breakfast, we were covered with dirt and completely exhausted. Hooters was the first restaurant we came across, and those breaded wings were like manna from heaven, and the frosty mug of miller lite was like the nectar of the gods. I dont think Hooters could ever be better than after thinking you might die in the woods.
There's nothing like a real thing of beauty right before your eyes pretending to like you. And you can also pretend she's innocent too.
Ker's Winghouse is better than Hooters. Both in food and the waitresses. At least at Ker's they don't wear those stupid leotards. If you are going to do it, do it right. Pasties and g-strings.
https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/23/opinion/hooters-gay-family.html Interesting article. Anecdotal accounts of fathers taking their gay kids to Hooters to influence them, and it has reverse effect and servers are often sympathetic to the gay kid.
I had an English major GF who had a PB subscription. It not only had great articles, it had great short fiction. 10 Stories From Famous Authors That Were First Published in Playboy - Electric Literature
It's sort of a weird position in the market, if you think about it. I want to be a little creepy and inappropriate to women around my bros but not too much, like at a strip club.
Kerr's wing house in Ocala has been going down hill for years now. The one in Gainesville didn't last long but some of that was the location. I think they have all gone down since he sold the franchise. The original Hooters in Gainesville and Ocala both went out of business years ago. I think it is a idea that has past it's prime.
Getting capital from somewhere Hooters has agreed to pay $900,000 to Hendrick Motorsports for not honoring its 2024 sponsorship agreement, according to court records. Hendrick had sued Hooters for $1.705 million, plus interest, for what the company hadn’t paid in 2024 to sponsor Chase Elliott.
Still my favorite wings, though, but I just buy the sauce and make them at home… and have my serve them in her underwear… same thing…
