It would seem to make more sense that the west coast game be the late game but Duke-Bama is the bigger draw. I'm looking forward to that game.
TTech is a very good team the only team to beat Houston on their home floor this year doing it without toppin and there head coach too. That being said there is no team out there that the gators can’t beat
They can be good, agreed. That game at Houston, those guys played like they had literally been ripped off after the coaches being ejected and the call of the flagrant 2 and ejection of Toppin. They were playing super motivated and it was one of those games. If we play well, we should win comfortably. If not, we're in for a game.
Its so weird. Duke is the 3rd most popular team in it's own state, but they get treated like the Yankees. And Alabama has zero traction as far as national interest. Sometimes I wonder how much of this stuff is metrics based vs. perception.
Texas Tech had 22 offensive rebounds vs Arky. I don’t think we’re going to bury them on the glass, so we better take care of the ball.
Chance McMillian is second on the team in minutes/game and third in pts/game. He hasn't played in their last four games but was listed as a gametime decision last night. I'm skeptical he'll be good to go tomorrow if he couldn't go last night, but if he can that restores TT's depth.
Maryland was also a good rebounding too until they met the Gators. What is nice is that UF will have TT in size at every position on the court at all times. Not to mention the extra depth, with them playing a longer more exhausting game on less turn around time. If the TT guards cannot stop on ball penetration like against Arky, I very much like our chances tomorrow…
Playing through an oblique is not really something that can be done because of how involved it is in shooting, jumping and rebounding. It is either healed or he needs more time, just like in baseball where you cannot swing or pitch if you strain your oblique. With him going down March 13th, I would be extrememly surprised if he plays tomorrow. Normally that’s a 4 week injury minimum…
Texas Tech is definitely a tough game but the reason this year especially the #1 seed was so important is that you'd much rather be playing Texas Tech instead of Duke or Houston like Alabama and Tennessee (should they beat UK) to get to the Final Four.
Paolo took two months to return from his oblique injury for the Magic, and even when he did return it took him another month to get back into game shape. Even if McMillan plays he will be a shell of himself.
I thought one of Maryland’s issues was rebounding? Their coach even mentioned “rebounding woes” up with stopping Clayton as their biggest two issues with Florida. Looks like they were out rebounded 39-29 by Colorado St giving up 13 offensive boards. They even gave up 13 offensive rebounds to Grand Canyon, even though they won the total rebounding battle there. The Gators meanwhile collected 15 offensive rebounds against them. Regardless, I am not suggesting that Tech will dominate us on the glass, but our usual edge in that department might be somewhat diminished here.
maybe. NC has so many Dollar General basketball fans because we’re never elite at football, sometimes at baseball. I’m an NC state alumnus and wish I still had my shirt that said “Duck Fuke”. Roll Tide!
