Make it 272 team tournament. People ger 3 more weeks of CB and more money to make by everyone else. Vegas will definitely make more money.

I’d rather see less teams playing 3-5 game series’.

Wait there's something wrong with basketball the way it's been forever?

Not every second of a game has to be concentrated on scoring the most points.

Also you guys thinking it will speed up the game are cute. Where do you think all those last minute commercials will go? Can't wait to watch a commercial break after every basket.

How would yesterday's game have played out with this proposed new rule?

Still think it is a good idea?

Maybe...but sometimes a late inbound pass is not as easy as it sounds.

I would like to see 2 ft’s and the ball on intentional fouls.

The winning score would have been marked as 78 with 4 minutes to play (Texas Tech was leading 71-64. As it stands, we reached 78 before they did, would have won it with a free throw by one point. Obviously, the game would have unfolded differently in several aspects due to the nature of the rule, but if we look at as it stood, a relatively similar result. In my opinion, our game yesterday doesn't match the dynamic for where it would look significantly different to implement the rule.

How would we define "intentional foul?" While some fouls are more obviously intentional than others, most have some degree of trying for the ball with a willingness to make contact if needed.

Most intentional fouls don’t have any degree of trying for the ball, imho. Most intentional fouls are obvious too, everyone knows it, the situations are not hard to figure out either. Yeah, it would still be a judgement call for the refs. Not all would be called that way, but it could be far more than are called now.

My biggest problem with that is that you're putting more on the plate of an officiating crew that is already severely overwhelmed. Can't wait until we can implement technology to offload some of their duties (anybody remember when 3 seconds was a violation?).

Yes, traveling and shoving off used to be fouls too.

I get that, for sure. I’m just talking out loud, it would likely never happen though. The no calls on 3 second violations is very frustrating. Much like football, everything is slanted in favor of scoring, imho.

There are no "intentional fouls" anymore for the obvious reason that we have this stupid discussion. Fouling on purpose to stop the clock is an "intentional" foul in the sense that you do it on purpose but back in the day it was used to describe a flagrant foul and that outmoded idea has led to this stupid discussion. Such fouls were allowed back then and not called "intentional" fouls unless my team was playing Emmitt Smith's intramural team and he told the officials that every foul we made in the closing moments was an "intentional" foul" and gave his team two free throws and the ball.

The refs got autographs after the game.

    They barely beat us,

He may be a Gator great but he is also an (cannot put that word here).

We would have won on Clayton's dribble out 3 that made it 78-77. That's about the most exciting way in which a game can end under that system.

Gimick. Enough has been done to alter the game. Don't destroy it. It's bad like the shootouts to decide college football winners instead of following the NFL lead.
