That’s the one lol. Maybe you should rewatch it and learn how to defeat the pollen lol. I quickly erased that movie from my limited ram storage. All I remember is some truly terrible acting.
We hit the top of the order (Falby) with two outs an amazing number of times. At UCF it was *every* time (except the first inning, of course). This is not the first game where her every at bat came with two outs -- a problem in the A&M series as well. It hurts not to let our big bats have some outs to work with. I wonder what "Money Ball" would say about giving up an out in the eight or nine hole.
Glad you pointed that out! Now I adore Falby but imo with two outs shelf the slap game and swing away. We know she can do it. Nobody ever plays her deep, always countering her short game. Even if she gets an infield grounder she could potentially run out with the traffic on the bases runner obstruction is in the realm of possibilities. I don’t like the odds in that scenario, swing away Kendra!
Does anyone have any insight what happened in the top of the seventh inning after Otis struck out and they spent 10 minutes trying to figure out something about the lineup or some rules issues?
I didn't see the game, but maybe UCF was trying to drag out the game so they could savor the win as much as possible.
I do think the announcers were correct that it was some sort of substitution rule that Tim jumped on and blew their minds. I have not a clue what it could be but in the end they ruled against him. Not sure I've ever seen a collection of umps retreating to read the rule book before.
On a note about Korbe. She has had her biggest and probably her only real slump as a Gator over the last three weeks. Seems to be having difficulties barreling up the ball.
Sometimes seniors know this is their last time playing softball, they want to help their team and go out on top and they just press too much. Remember last year Skylar went through a slump and then busted out of it down the stretch. It happens.
BTW...she has the second best on base percentage on the team behind only Kendra. (And I'll bet I'll surprise many, including me, although she's a few at bats short of qualifying....with a couple more Ava would be with the second best OBP).
Kayli Kvistad did the same. Another thing to remember like Kayli Korbe has an extremely tough academic route. Sometimes they bust out after finals when they jsut play ball.
