We will play him like we did Lanier and run him off the line all night. Others will have to beat us with contested 2's. We win going away late. Go Gators!

This would be fantastic if true, though we don’t want them extra focused and/or pissed…deflated would be the desired reaction

At the very least, it should be a huge distraction for the team.

The opposite of that would be Steve Nash. I'm barely 6'3 and though Steve Nash is listed at 6'3 he's a good inch plus shorter than me. I've met him 3 times and always amazed that this guy who wasn't fast, couldn't jump, was that short and yet was the NBA 2X MVP. The guy just had incredible skills and court vision. As much as it is a height game you still need to be able to play. Clayton Jr is a great example of that. Dominating without being physically dominating. That said, hopefully Rioux will eventually dominate the way Edey did

If that’s the interview, I saw it. Here are my thoughts:
Golden is very bright and humble and speaks very well, hitting the important details but doesn’t overtalk or do too much “coachspeak.”
Clayton has a southern drawl and is not crazy about being interviewed.
Richard just says the minimum necessary.
Martin seems shy and flat out doesn’t want to be there.
They seem like level headed fabulous athletes that love playing for UF.
Golden mentioned he is looking for good kids who want to be here; with these three, he knocked it out of the park!

    Yup.

Golden comes across as brilliant. Loved how he remembered the SF reporter's first name.

Those three were cracking me up. The questions were so awful and they were trying to be respectful, but you could tell they were just thining wtf, this is so dumb... Walt covered his face at one point trying not to just laugh out loud.

I don't like the distraction this could create for UF. Any little thing could turn the tide in a tournament.

I hate how all the questions are Walt, Walt, Walt. I feel like it’d create a little tension and awkwardness. Like Richard and Martin mean nothing to the interviewers.

But the question is... Do his players feel like the fans, or do they feel like sending coach of with more wins? Or are they ambivalent? Which wouldn't be good for them either.

Hard to say how this plays out, but it's even harder to come up with a way that, as a player, you feel good enough about the situation to want to help the coach out.

The only way this helps Maryland is if they're just pissed the hell off. Which, if we're being honest, is a real possibility.

Or they have been/are talking with their agent lining up the next nil stop. A more reasonable possibility

I like our chances. Sure their first 5 are good, but I'm hearing that to avoid foul trouble, they don't play agressive D or go hard for rebounds. Those aren't in their favor against us.
