I thought he could just declassify stuff by thinking about it. Why the need for EO?

But, “My decision to declassify the materials described above does not extend to materials that must be protected from disclosure pursuant to orders of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and does not require the disclosure of certain personally identifiable information or any other materials that must be protected from disclosure under applicable law,"

So he is just declassifying SOME documents but not others? Or did I misread the article?

It's going to be a selective release of records to reinforce his narrative. No matter how he tries to spin it he is still Putin's boy.

Mueller found evidence of Russian collusion and interference in the 2016 campaign. Waiting for Trump to release the Mueller Report in its entirety without any redactions.
Key Findings of the Mueller Report | ACS
The Special Counsel investigation uncovered extensive criminal activity
    • The investigation produced 37 indictments; seven guilty pleas or convictions; and compelling evidence that the president obstructed justice on multiple occasions. Mueller also uncovered and referred 14 criminal matters to other components of the Department of Justice.
    • Trump associates repeatedly lied to investigators about their contacts with Russians, and President Trump refused to answer questions about his efforts to impede federal proceedings and influence the testimony of witnesses.
    • A statement signed by over 1,000 former federal prosecutors concluded that if any other American engaged in the same efforts to impede federal proceedings the way Trump did, they would likely be indicted for multiple charges of obstruction of justice.

Russia engaged in extensive attacks on the U.S. election system in 2016

    • Russian interference in the 2016 election was “sweeping and systemic.”[1]
    • Major attack avenues included a social media “information warfare” campaign that “favored” candidate Trump[2] and the hacking of Clinton campaign-related databases and release of stolen materials through Russian-created entities and Wikileaks.[3]
    • Russia also targeted databases in many states related to administering elections gaining access to information for millions of registered voters.[4]

So that even the media can understand that it's declassified.

If Trump is serious about releasing all records related to Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign he would be releasing the Mueller Report without any redactions including supporting documents used by Mueller and his staff. If he doesn't do so the post is effectively accurate.

The Mar-a-Lago raid was all about getting control of the Crossfire Hurricane documents. Trump was too smart to let that happen.

My reading of that is that the DoJ is not going to release any of the information that FBI collected through their FISA warrant on Carter Page. My guess is that the justification they will use is that the FISA Warrants should not have been granted and Page's personal privacy was breached, so any information gained through that search should not be released.

And what’s your takeaway of the broad-brushed conclusion that the Mueller Report was all a “hoax,” as the OP’s article claims?

I really do not give JusttheNews.com any credibility and typically click to the source material if it is linked.

I think the Trump Admin may be trying to get some information out about how the FBI started the investigation but I doubt any info is really going to change anyone's mind at this point.
