I don’t have anything set, but since the SEC tournament began, I’ve been wearing the same long sleeve white (to match uniform color) and told my wife no washing as long as we’re winning. I have a dilemma is we gave a higher seed and force us to wear a different color. Stick with white or go blue? Suggestions?
Yeah, I don't change any of my clothes from the end of the SEC tourney until we either get eliminated or we win the NC. And then I wait until after the victory parade to finally take a shower, shave and put on new clothes and underwear. You may not realize this, but my wife and kids are not as much of a Gator fan as I am. Not sure why. Back when we were winning our NCs, the dog was quite pleased. In fact, he kept rolling around on my lap during the championship games. He got it!!
Don’t change anything! I wear my Tommy Bahama Gator Hawaiian shirt every game, if we are playing bad I switch it up with a darker blue Gator Hawaiian shirt at half time. I drink 16oz. Miller Lite aluminum bottles in a “Fire Napier” leather coozie I made after the football aTm game. We have done pretty well so I’m sticking with my routine.
Not washing a shirt from the last game is next level. I sweated like Bruce Pearl, and had to wash those game day clothes!
My wife goes into the home office and says her daily prayers. I watch the game in the great room. If the gators are playing sloppy, I switch to another channel for a few minutes. Usually, when I turn back to the game, the ship has been righted!
My daughter started playing a Michael Jackson cd right as the comeback started last game. I'll be moon-walking a lot Thursday night.
I don't watch. When I watch, we suck. Example: Walk in to a restaurant in St Augustine a week ago Sunday at around 2:00. We are up 9 on the Vols in the championship game. Get a seat where I do not need to see the TV without turning my head. I confess, when we first sat down, I turned and watched for a few minutes and saw us keep that margin. Ordered and was enjoying my meal. My MIL's husband is looking at a TV and he makes a face. I said, "What?" He says "They're within 5 now." THAT was me that caused that run, even though I only watched for a few minutes. Sorry, folks. I never looked again until we were inside the final minute.
My daughter gave me a gator shirt on my birthday in September. I have worn it for the football games against Ole Miss and LSU. I have worn it for the big games in hoops. Was at the SEC tourney and wore it for the semi and finals, also for UCONN. It will be worn Thursday night and for as long as we keep playing.
I got nothing. We were driving back from visiting Florida Sunday, I was watching the game on my phone and my wife was driving; she’s a UF alum too. During most of the game, she heard me lament and bitch about the game. I said nothing the last five minutes and after it ended, I just set my headphones down and acted somber; she didn’t say a word, thinking we lost and I was depressed. Then I told her, “We won!!” She screamed and said she thought we lost. She was apoplectic! It was a surreal moment!
Sunday we were driving back from Columbia SC to Knoxville between 10 and 3:00. I knew my son would text the outcome. Had the ApplePlay plugged in and kept any eye on the TEXT icon to see when new one hit. At 2:32 my watch dings and the red dot pops up. I ask siri to read the text. In her British female accent she says what sounded like "Ew". I hit replay. Same thing. I thought "Oh no" but my wife checked the score - no signal where we were in the mountains then she gets it "Gators won!" Turns out Siri has a hard time reading "Whew".
Naturally, my NOT WATCHING enabled Walter to hit those crucial shots, Alijah to grab that rebound... The glitchy coverage meant the text my son sent immediately after the "Whew" had a few more details but the lousy signal delayed it.
Fire up College Hoops 2K8 on the emulator and play a couple rounds I played 2K6 during our tournament run and its been a tradition ever since
Florida is 2-0 this season when Red Panda is the halftime show FYI (OU, SECCG vs UTk) I wonder what Florida's overall record is when Red Panda is the halftime show. I've been wearing the same Gator sweatshirt all season; it has been washed only a few times lol. I have a conundrum approaching as temps here in Colorado will be into the 80s this week and into the weekend. Also, when Condon the Condor goes to the FT line, I have been saying Oi Oi Oi and he seems to hit those while he misses when I forget to say it...
