I was just making light of these media guys and their motivations. “Usually” in the silly season they pander to the fanbase to get more clicks (or whatever). I think they try to get expectations up, hence the statement. But, that said, I AM a true nonbeliever in Napier and would be more than shocked if he ever wins a championship at a school in one of the top conferences.
There was conversation about height. What matters to me is that he's not losing weight and appears to be filled out. Unfortunately, he's likely to have some pretty big linemen/LBers hard tackling him if they have the opportunity. He looks weight-ready.
I didn't even mention Taylor who played a good amount. I don't see him as a big contributor at DT. I would like to see him at DE.
Thats a very safe bet for any coach. Who is the next guy to actually win one would be a better place for your bet.
Hope that QB room is more solid than last year, injury wise. Frankly UF was a mash unit at many positions. Hopefully UF is a bit more healthy during the course of the season. UF does not need to be throwing a dozen freshmen / redshirt freshmen into the rotation due to injuries. Not in this league. I hope Napier can play the backup QB in the first couple of games this year so he gets some experience and we get a look. Seems to me team depth is much better, but lets face it, UF will be in trouble if DJ gets hurt, or numerous starters are in the training room. It seems to me a lot of Gator Nation is expecting a 9-3 or 10-2 regular season minimum. That's not an easy ask with the schedule. Having said that I think folks taking the W/L under will be losing money. They better, or UF may be coming off 27 Million.
