wow..what else has he sent in a drunken stupor and to whom? or is this targeted to entrap that's some topnotch national security right there wonder if this is how people knew Musk was getting briefed on China send out invites, anyone that accepts and joins but doesn't report gets prosecuted and sent to a black hole somewhere? we know how much trump loves the Atlantic Journalist stunned as Pete Hegseth inadvertently sends him top-secret war plans The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg had advance notice of a recent United States military strike against Houthi rebels in Yemen because he was inadvertently sent plans for the strike in a message from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Goldberg writes that this massive security breach began on March 11th when he received a connection request on encrypted messaging app signal from a user named Mike Waltz, which just happens to be the name of President Donald Trump's national security adviser. After accepting the request, Goldberg was then invited to join a messaging channel called "Houthi PC small group" that appeared to show administration officials coordinating plans to attack the Houthis.
First question: why are war plans being texted on phone apps? Second question: when do the investigation of all the crimes that the NSA, VP, Secretary of Defense just committed start? (Haha, of course, it is okay because Hegseth was a Fox host, which makes this totally not illegal)
In fairness to Hegseth, this wasn't just him. It seems the group chat was started (ironically) by the National Security Advisor. Other parties involved include Vance (VP), Rubio (SoS), Gabbard (DNI), Bessent (Treasury), McCormack (NSC), and Ratcliffe (CIA) along with Trump's Chief of Staff Wiles and deputy Stephen Miller. Not one of them took a moment to pause and ask to whom the initials "J G" (the journalist) belonged.
These fraternity dudebros leading the military will be the undoing of this nation. This is what MAGA zealots wanted.
“The thread is a demonstration of the deep and thoughtful policy coordination between senior officials. The ongoing success of the Houthi operation demonstrates that there were no threats to troops or national security.”
Some credit to the journalist for not printing the plans but reporting the mistake to the authorities.
Interestingly, the biggest concern of all this for team Vance was that Vance in the text thread disagreed with Trump. William Martin, a spokesperson for Vance, said that despite the impression created by the texts, the vice president is fully aligned with the president. “The Vice President’s first priority is always making sure that the President’s advisers are adequately briefing him on the substance of their internal deliberations,” he said. “Vice President Vance unequivocally supports this administration’s foreign policy. The President and the Vice President have had subsequent conversations about this matter and are in complete agreement.”
God forbid anybody voice the downsides of military action. This should squash any further unwanted dissension.
I was on the thread as well but assumed it was just spam and was only threatening an attack if I didn’t pay my outstanding toll charges.
