To top that, the WH released a statement that (and I paraphrase) “he meant he didn’t sign the original act from 179&.” So embarrassing on multiple levels. If you believe this BS we’ll never agree on most anything and I truly question your intelligence.

I read a pretty convincing op-ed that said exactly this; Trump knows so little that he doesn't truly believe that he's lying. Their examples were things like "best economy ever", "biggest tax break ever." He just doesn't freaking know enough to know differently. To be fair, he knows quite a lot about adultery, fraud and sexual assault. But that's not very relevant to being fake-POTUS.

The Dems keep saying that this is ONLY when we are at war type of act... Name the war we were in... in the year 1948? That's the last time the POTUS used that act and the SCOTUS agreed with it's use. Yeah... the law was NOT really about ONLY being at war with a country in order for this Act to be used legally by the POTUS. Alien and Sedition Acts (1798)
Speaking of lying. The act has been used three times. War of 1812, WWI, and WWII. That's it. 1948 was during exactly none of those.
At least we now have a POTUS that answers questions and doesn't run when a question is asked. I won't try to figure out what he says or when he misspeaks but it is better turning your back and being led off stage by Dr Jill when a question is asked.

The tactic is shock and awe bullshit hose / flood the zone to overwhelm the judiciary. 100% he wants to launch the ire of MAGA people against judges on Truth and X. It’s right out of the playbook. Hope Rubio enjoys the view under the Trump bus. The ends justify the means here. No one wants the gang members here. But… what happens when someone gets scooped up in the chaos? The answer from MAGA is: “Too bad. You shouldn’t have been here.” Again, the question remains… get the asylum hearing backlog fixed. Trump could own the libs here in a total win if he could show a tent city of asylum hearings and processing that follows the laws. But we demand due process. If they are gang members worthy of deportation, prove it. Don't unconstitutionally use a war time power, when we're not at war, to suspend anyone's Constitutional rights. Especially when there's now multiple stories of innocent persons being swept up and sent to El Salvador. Democracies like ours are built on the v premise it's better to let 10 guilty people go free rather than convict 1 innocent person. Fascists governments are the opposite.
