Russian women fought in WWII. Russia's best fighter pilot ace in the war was a woman. Are you saying that Russia did not win WWII? Lydia Litvyak - Wikipedia
Not really. Who provided Russia with Merlin aircraft engines during WWII? Hint: It was Britain. You should try reading some history books.
Ukraine's Long Neptune just leveled one of Russias largest refineries. A strategic game changer for Ukraine as Russian air defenses have been denuded. Frontline report: Russia's giant oil refinery burns for 48 hours after Ukraine's new 1000 km Neptune missile debut - Euromaidan Press
Pictures of the devastation at Russia's Engels Air Base. New satellite images show the damage after Ukraine struck a bomber base deep inside Russia Before: After:
Latest British estimates of Russian casualties: 200-250k killed, and 650-700k wounded. (Remember, Russia only had 15k killed in Afghanistan.) 900,000 Russian soldiers have likely been killed or wounded since Moscow invaded Ukraine, UK's MOD says
Ukraine has a new SAM system to use, developed in-house. It's based on Russian heat-seeking R-73 anti-aircraft missiles, of which Ukraine apparently has quite a few. It is a "FrankenSAM" system, combining parts from different systems. It is also a "fire-and-forget" weapon, allowing the operator to re-locate quickly. The Gravehawk system, provided by Britain and Denmark, is a similar system in use by Ukraine, but it uses ASRAAM missiles. Ukraine Has Another New SAM System That Fires Soviet R-73 Air-To-Air Missiles
Z was bragging on these homemade missiles about a week ago and seeing drones get through to a major airbase makes me think these missiles will hit whatever they get pointed at. time to inflict some pain on a certain bridge and maybe a personal villa or two of putins if they can be reached edit..reading that article makes me think Engels were these neptune missiles. not sure what their supply chain and production capabilities are for these but I sure hope they ramp it up somehow. these could be the game changer if Moscow can't stop them with any degree of certainty and Ukraine can target independent of US intel or help
What does Ukraine have to lose at this point. Take out that bridge to Crimea and reduce the Kremlin to rubble.
leave the national treasures. they belong to the people, go after the personal treasures of putin and his inner circle
That was my thought, too. The Bridge is an appropriate military target. The Kremlin is not. Ukraine is not going to lose any international support for taking out the former; it will if it takes out the latter.
Ukranian air power seems to be making a much bigger impact than in the past. Not sure what t don't ever recall forward jets being used as offensively as the reports I have read recently. Ukrainian forces destroy masked Russian command post in Belgorod region - General Staff The Ukrainian Air Force successfully struck a command and control post of the Russian border outpost in Glotovo, the Belgorod region, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports. According to the General Staff, Ukrainian pilots eliminated the enemy target despite Russian units using enhanced presence masking measures. As a result of the strike, communications devices along with other technical assets were destroyed. "Eliminating this command post significantly reduces the enemy's potential to conduct operations against Ukraine's Defense Forces in Sumy and Kharkiv regions," the General Staff added. The General Staff noted that Ukrainian Air Force pilots, along with other units of the Defense Forces, will continue to strike at enemy command posts in order to reduce their ability to wage aggressive warfare against Ukraine.
We are very fortunate, President Zelenskyy, to get your first-hand accounts here on Too Hot. Tell us what you really think. We will continue to withhold judgment.
I seem to recall it was Ukraine offering a full ceasefire in the air and Russia scoffing that it would only consider a ceasefire on energy-related targets. Since then, Ukraine has pulled off several coordinated attacks in the air domain that have taken out legitimate military (non-energy) targets deep in Russian territory, and Russia’s biggest attack since then has taken out — what? — a bunch of civilian housing in Odessa.
You know the answer to that already. And the inconvenient answer is, a lot of it, especially in these latest attacks, is of their own manufacture. The Neptune missile and all of these drones, for instance. But if your point is simply that Ukraine depends on allies to fight an enemy 10 times its own size, then the collective response you’re going to get over and over is: “Well, no shit.”
