The only team this season to crack the top ten teams in the KenPom era will be the top seed. Go Gators!
Welp, this is the first time in my life that I've ever been wrong. I would like to thank the selection committee for further disrespecting this monster of a team. May it fuel them to the title.
SEC Tournament meant nothing unless we lost a game. We had to win it all to ensure our number one seed. Auburn only had to win one game to keep the number one overall seed in spite of losing three out of their last four and having a worse record and losing to Florida head to head. The committee predetermined the Auburn was the best team in the country regardless of what happened in the SEC tournament. The whole process is so subjective and is clearly a shinola show. Todd can use this to pour some gasoline on the Gators fire.
Till, feels like for a decade you have always eloquently put what I think. Question for you. Where do you think, at this point, where does WCJ goes in the draft?
Thanks brother. Ditto that! Did you see my post about a coach I know that worked with Walt a lot coming up? Is Clayton an All-Time great? He said he has league talent. I think maybe even draft level. (2nd round?). His size is the concern.
Coaches poll out, we were #3 behind Duke and Houston. 1 Duke (25) 31-3 764 2 Houston (2) 30-4 731 3 Florida (3) 30-4
Not that this will actually happen (it is the way it is these days), but I think these voters are going to look really stupid come cutting down the nets. And that does not mean we WILL win it all. It just looks elitist and lazy.
I don’t know that I’d say stupid. It’s not like they are ranking us 35th. 3rd ranked team in nation wins national title is hardly a surprising headline.
These two are measuring different things. I still think Auburn earned their seed. 16 quad 1 victories, including four over the NET top 10, is hard to ignore. By comparison, Duke has 9 quad 1 victories, with only one over a top 10 team.
Different things. Total body of work and Auburn is the clear #1. They earned it. Who is best now you throw Duke, Houston and UF in a hat and pick one.
My point was, while I like our chances, I don't think the other 3 have distanced themselves in a way that said "who in the heck cares what we saw, we know better." There are teams they play, including us, who can knock them off before the FF. Duke, IMO is getting WAY to much street cred this year. Houston? Not sure. Auburn is trending down for whatever reason.
Auburn has peaked but they are good enough to re-peak. Houston is legit. If Flagg is hobbled then Duke is not so great. If he is fine they are a force. So are the Gators.
