I’ve made travel arrangements from Gainesville to be in San Francisco for the West Regional Finals. I’m a Gator Basketball season ticket holder, but only since Coach Golden has been here, and I’m not really a huge booster. I put in for 1 ticket on the UF email link. Depending on the allotment, I might decide to go ahead and get a ticket on the resale market. Anyone know how many tickets are allotted to each school for regional finals?
Did some research. For the Raleigh regional, each of 8 schools gets 200 tickets each. Think it’s same for all first two rounds. And for Final Four it’s 3,600 tickets per school.
If you’re trying to get some of UF’s allotment, I would contact UF’s ticket office. If you’re just trying to get tickets, I would contact the venue directly.
I called ticket office. Guy was not too sure how it worked. I am wondering what do they do if they dont use their allotment up. Will they go to general public? Im interested in final four.
Used to be if a school couldn't sell their allotment the remainder was sent back and sold to the general public. Not sure how they do things now. Everybody just be careful with all the electronic ticket stuff. Scammers can make something that looks real. I'd use a ticket broker if you can't go through UF. Also, we have a Ticket Swap forum that works very well: Gator to Gator.
UF did send out an email asking season ticket holders if they wanted to reserve tickets to NCAA tournament games. No guarantees. I did put in for Regional Finals and Final Four. But you don't get contacted until the Tuesday before the actual game! For the SF Regional Final, that game is on THURSDAY!! Very littel time for planning alternatives if you don't get a ticket through UF.
I've been sold tickets directly from the office before they were supposed to be open to the general public by calling and speaking with someone. I did see someone else said they called and the person who helped them today had no info. (my situation was different as it was for football, and just before general public sales were opened, not a couple days before a game somewhere else). I've also had good luck contacting the venues directly if you haven't done that yet. May be relegated to stubhub or ticketmaster. It is a bit odd that there is not an announced first hand service handling the tickets. Are all the venue's allotment already sold? Ticketmaster is who handles all UF's stuff, and you do avoid a bunch of fees buying first hand tickets over second hand even when using the website/app. Ticketmaster's site says they're just a secondary vendor for these games though.
My wife recently had rotator cuff surgery so with that and her rehab we will not be able to travel to any games. And we are LONG time season ticket holders (back when Schintzius was a frosh) and have five season tickets so we have some priority. Not enough for a Gator ticket to the first two rounds but probably enough to get us Gator tickets to the Regional and certainly enough for a Final Four. The only Final Four that I missed was in 2000 because I couldn't find any reasonably priced way to get to Champaign, IL to take my dad to Indy. He would have loved it in spite of the fact that my Gators beat my alma mater (MS and PhD) and his team (Illinois) in the round of 32. Lot of trash talk between us before the game. I miss him.
