Not just him but all of our pitchers have got to be able to pitch to both sides of the plate as well as change speeds and change hitters eye levels.
OK. Someone has to do something about so many Gator sports going on at the same time. Had my grandson watch basketball on his phone. I had the softball stat board on my phone and moaning while watching baseball on TV. And it is irritating when you have to change from SEC+ to SEC in the middle of the game. Hope we find our bats today.
It was frustrating to see King's excellent outing wasted and our bats asleep. The kid is special with remarkable poise and quality strike throwing. At 18 years old he knows how to pitch not just throw. The Vols definitely look like an elite team- a cut above at this stage in the season. It's early yet but some of our transfers from "lesser" conferences seem a bit overmatched- Nadeau the exception as he has been a pesky presence in the lead-off spot with long ABs and getting on base more than half the time... but if there is no one behind to bring him around then we have a problem. (The melt down in the 7th was offset by watching the Gators MBK team thrash Bama.) Gotta get this one with Jake and the week would be ok with our win last Tuesday over Noles.
No need to be frustrated and King's performance was absolutely not wasted. Think about how many great teams have come to our house to get demolished by us. It happens and Tennessee is a very good team right now if not the best team. Let them peak now. Just like Auburn did three weeks ago in basketball. King should now know he can battle and battle successfully against any team and any location. Not many freshmen can say that. We knew this team isn't our best ever. Last year was not one of our better teams, yet we made Omaha. These losses hurt, but in the big picture we need to find our who we can rely on. While this is not one of our better teams, this is one of our deeper teams. That will bode well for us through the course of the year. I know our goal is to win the SEC every year, but more people remember who won the national title than they do the SEC title. Our goals need to be make the NCAA Tournament, host a regional, and host a super regional. Both Peterson and King looked great. We need to find which arms in the pen we can count on and which bats have the clutch setting on high. We also need to learn how to run the bases. Let's get two Gators wins at noon today and have a day!!
I've heard from some posters that they would rather not see the posts made by someone else. You can accomplish that! Go to a post from that person, click on the name and you will get a pop-up box. In the box you have the option of clicking on "ignore". If you choose to ignore someone, you won't see any of their posts. Don't let another poster irritate you or get under your skin. If they do, don't interact with them as most irritators love to argue for the sake of it. Just remove them from your world and go on with life.
I still think this team has high ceiling. Very high actually. If this team can get healthy, it is in the process growing and testing the pitching staff. There is real promise out of the young arms. There is the ability to improve fielding. The most consistent trait of a Sully coached team is sound defense. This team will work this issue out. Hitting will improve as well. It just not clicking right now. This team has more speed than in past years. There is an emphasis on base running. I really like the components and believe they are there, not lacking. Sully is to good of a coach to get his best this early. This team will continue to develop and be a strong contender by seasons end. Look at Auburn basketball, clearly the best team In the country all season long but lost now 3 of their last 4. They peaked early and now have struggled against quality teams. The weekend series mean a lot as fans l, but if we were getting swept in May then there is reason for real concern. Also, I believe Gator Softball wins it all this year.. They too will put it together by tournament time.

Isn't Tegan a girls' name??!! It doesn't matter to @74nole, though - It's EARL anyway and he's never heard of him!
I’m guessing if you have a boy and name him Tegan you’re trying to insure that he will grow up tough…
