That was one of my favorite moments….

I remind myself that the likelihood that we will be the last happy team standing is slim.

This team will, in all likelihood, break our collective heart in the next few weeks. I try to remind myself not to judge them on merely the basis of that one moment, but to nurture the the pride and joy they have brought, across time and space so, if I would chance to meet one off them, and we share the memories, it would make them glad.

Gotta enjoy the ride. CBB can't be only about the results. Too much chaos. One has to enjoy the journey.

 

It's not even close. And we continue to gel as a team, and Condon, Tommy H, Denzel, Micah, and Klavzar continue to improve every game. The best team is getting better every night. The way we come at guys in waves is reminiscent, of well Billy Donovan's first great team the 2000 national runner-ups. The difference being that was a young team led by an underclassman Mike Miller, and a blossoming freshman Donnell Harvey.

This year's team is led by a trio of battle-tested senior guards. Each month, and then each week, and now each day more and more of the national guys jump on this bandwagon that is Florida Basketball. Let's hope we're still talking about the next game the first week or so of April.

A well-deserved one for a change.

 

I return to my pre-SECCG game sentiments to share an epilogue.

My first thought as the clock hit 0.0 yesterday was how glad I was for the players that pinned their hopes and dreams on the University of Florida.

We here have discussed that championships should not be the only measurement of a great team, but they are helpful! I am delighted that there would be a tangible emblem of everything this team represents to us and Gator Nation. Every person on that team now has a defining moment that will be hanging from the storied rafters of our home court. Life lessons are being imparted to many young men, their families, and their futures. Fun to watch it happen.
