Once or twice a decade, at most. I am just shocked at how quickly Golden has gotten us to this point. Fun brand of basketball, perfect team chemistry, and a balanced, deep roster full of tough minded, confident aggressive kids. We've had some great teams who went on great runs: 1988, 1994, 2000, 2002, 2011, 2014, 2017, but this is probably the best outside of our national championship teams.
Thanks Brent for a post that reminds us, as glorious as it is to celebrate a skull-crushing beatdown, the smiles on all the faces in the postgame were even better.
People complaining about Golden when he was hired have to be shocked. An extension is definitely on the way
that's the most the team has collectively cheered for one moment all season...they went nuts imagine, he's a walk-on in maybe his last game ever....and he beats a guy off the dribble going left to score on a nationally televised tournament weekend game. talk about a MOMENT.
he built this team in the NIL era too! convincing guys to stick around, guys like Aberdeen that didn't get any time, and then went out and got EXACTLY what we needed in the portal. Remember how many of us thought there'd be a drop off since we lost such a great PG, only to have Clayton Jr become the best PG in the nation and our only 1st team all American - ever Golden built this team the HARD WAY, and our players all got to this point with blood, sweat and tears.
Sounds a lot like the '04's. I don't think we are as talented as the '04's but we have the mentality of the 1994 team with a lot more talent. And those guys had some talent.
Thanks for the praise. We are playing Tennessee in Nashville, which is a home game for them. If we handled the pressure, we will have the hardware we deserve. Either way, we will make noise in the NCAA tournament. Unbelievable season with injuries helping make our team deeper. Back to back was special, this feels magical again. Go Gators.
I voiced my opinion earlier this year, I thought Bennet should get some time as he is physical, and knows how to get to the hoop. As a walk on, He could play on a lot of teams I have seen this year. His natural instinct took over and his finish was a thing of beauty. I think Nate Oats choked on spit when this happened. All this talk Alabama this, Alabama that, we just keep crushing them. I am going to sleep like a baby tonight. Bennet you stole one of my dreams, LOL.
