Source? I believe it, just kinda surprised they'd admit it.

No doubt! Billy Donovan North, as someone once said here. But I was more speaking of tactical adjustments during a game.

Playing further from home isn't the best, but in the end, you have to play great teams to win the whole enchilada. Nice, but not necessary. Once we play the first weekend in Raleigh, everything else is not that important. JMHO

In the end the 1 seed is the key this year. You avoid the 2 best non-SEC teams in your region.

We only have to look at last year for that.

That’s not exactly true. He said they try to set lines 1-4 by Friday night. They are willing to adjust them, but emphasized that it doesn’t grant greater weight to more recent games than earlier games. They take the season as a whole, and that means they already factored in different possible outcomes.

I read that supposedly Houston asked for the West region (for some reason). I am not sure if that is true and if true, how they even go about asking/lobbying for a specific region and if the committee even cares.

Could impact UF if true and they are accommated.

I bet Houston's logic is: they know they'll be paired with an SEC team as their #2 seed. That SEC team will be a good bit closer to Indy than Houston (especially Tenn). So they'll be at a geographic disadvantage in Indy relative to their #2 seed.

If they go to the west, neither team/fanbase is particularly close.

Yes, the committee consults with the likely one seeds to see where they would want to go if given the choice, then place them there based upon overall seed.

This season, there will likely be 14 SEC teams in the Dance, meaning 3-4 SEC teams in each bracket

That's true. Of course no easy games in the tournament & good chance if Florida advances, they'll be matched up with an SEC team. I just meant, should Florida makes it to the elite 8, which would certainly be a very difficult game, I'd rather be matched up against St. Johns or Mich St, then Duke or Houston.
