Take that language and google it you will find the pdf from where it's derived I am happy to see other estimates. Do you have any? I did find one that said 4200 approximately with gender dysphoria.
I feel like I already acknowledged the internet sources asserting the numbers were that high. My question is how those numbers will match reality when it actually comes to discharges, which is the issue at hand. The Pentagon study you reference, I think I can safely assume it occurred during the Biden Administration. Was its purpose to cast as wide a net as possible to maximize numbers? I don’t know. But it wouldn’t surprise me. For instance, did it include people who might have answered a question on a survey or medical exam a certain way but who otherwise followed the military norms of their birth gender? I cannot say. The military concerns itself with outward behaviors not with the underlying essence of people. Just like in liberal society, there are people in the military who at their core are racists, lazy, obese, illicit drug users, adulterers, and sexually attracted to children, but none of those behaviors are compatible with military service. They either conform to military norms for the duration of their service or they get separated. Having read the policy, it seems to me that only those who are unable or unwilling to follow military gender norms for uniforms, grooming, height-weight, physical fitness, honorifics, etc will actually be separated, not those who merely feel a certain way in their hearts. And so, again, I think this will end up being a small number, in the hundreds at most, certainly not on the order of 15,000.

Nope, I didn't. Still don't. I hear there are roughly 15,000 serving transgenders. Are all of them calling in sick, not performing their duties, overtaxing military medical facilities?
Ok. I'll answer this. A man who wants to be a women isnt going to be very popular when the bullets start flying That is no place for PC feelings. The military is a morale based organism. Try as you might to be as inclusive as you wish, but that would not give a boatload of confidence to most men. Oh look. The dude next to me likes to wear dresses when we are off duty. Call me whatever names you would like, but if you dont think that creates a problem...especially if the crap hits the fan...you are just ignoring reality. I think at the vary least they should be restricted on what duties they can fulfill. Sorry. We restrict on all sorts of things. My BIL, an officer in the Navy lost his chance to obtain his wings as a pilot because the doctors found something that MAY at some point impact his vision over time in one eye. Years later he still hasnt had any issues. The military isnt a feelings based organization and if a group has a high propensity for Mental illness it likely isnt going to be viewed very highly.
And Republicans are the party of the real TDS (transgender derangement syndrome). They've become obsessed with people who constitute less than one percent of the total population.
Tilly, my friend, why would I call you names over your well-thought out post? I'm not a name-caller, anyway. Couple of counterpoints. The same arguments you make (morale, restricted duties) about transgenders, have been made against women and Black people. The men already serving had big problems with both groups, needless to say. This isn't about inclusion, or about being PC, it's about merit. If a person can do a job well, should they be summarily excluded from even attempting to do so? I don't know that our volunteer army can afford to dismiss anyone who can assist the mission. You're right about restrictions, especially for pilots. But a physical limitation isn't the same, is it? It sounds like you're reluctantly compromising with a "separate but equal," accommodation. As far as "bullets flying," how many troops are in close proximity to said bullets? Not many, I would guess. Lumping "the military," together as a single, intolerant entity does a disservice to the service, IMO. I know many military members who accept transgenders, including my husband. They are mature professionals, who judge a person by their character and ability.
Many of the most famous M to F transgenderers have an autogynephilic fetish. They fantasize about being a lesbian while making love to a woman. They tend to be 1) High IQ 2) On the autism spectrum (aspergery) 3) Jerks/AHoles Classic example: Ted Kaczynski aka the Unabomber. In his mid twentys he wanted to change his sex to satisfy his autogynephilic tendencies.
Henry could present a real dilemma for Trump. Should he pardon Henry if (s)he's tried and convicted considering that (s)he and the Donald have the same pro-Russian sympathies or should he let her serve her sentence considering his animosity towards transgender persons.
