Point of clarification: when we say Trump doesn’t have the cards we mean that the US doesn’t have the cards. Putin is roundly defeating US attempts to see him ousted and Russia weakened via massive sanctions and proxy war.

Huge failure for civilization, son. Civilization will take a major step backwards if Russia wins this war, thanks to the imbecile in the White House and those who support him. I can only imagine what the history books will say about Trump, basically doing the equivalent of helping Nazi Germany finish off the invasion of western Europe and negotiating the surrender of those countries as opposed to helping them win the war. Will the history books use the word "traitor" to describe Trump?

Sadly, my nightmare of a never-ending war is just beginning. You would be having the same nightmare, too, if you had any sense. Trump is appeasing a dictator on the warpath, just as Europe did with Hitler in 1938-39. Thanks to special technology and something called "history", we know what happened in 1940-45. And, of course, there is another dictator across the other ocean looking to invade neighbors as well. Trump is doing what he can to light the fires of war. Trump is too dumb to know that he's playing with fire.

(72.55 years) And of course, Hitler began ramping up the military immediately upon becoming dictator and had only held the highest office in Germany 4 years when he annexed Austria. Vladimir Putin has been in control of Russia for 25 years. So for your comp to have any relevancy, we have to assume Putin waited 22 years and until he was very old to begin his "warpath" across Eastern Europe. And oh yea, we have to assume this "warpath" is certain based on Putin's 20 square km per day pace westward against a non-NATO foe.

It's the dumbest, most uninformed and laziest historical comp in the history of historical comps. And naturally, its design is to trick the uninformed into believing Vladimir Putin is a Hitler clone, thus procuring support from these uninformed masses for such a deadly and costly war. With Russia moving Ukraine out of Kursk and still making slow gains on the eastern front, Ukraine will inevitably have to make more concessions before a cease fire deal can be struck. Taking feels and politics out of this, Russia obviously has the momentum on the battlefield and therefore Ukraine has more to lose by holding out at this stage. If you're Russia, would you handle it any differently? And frankly, Kursk is going to be a huge eyesore for Ukraine in these negotiations because Russia can now point to the Kursk incursion as "aggression" against their sovereignty and Ukraine have nothing to show for their incursion in terms of bargaining power.

NATO boots in Ukraine aren't going to happen. Ultimately, Ukraine will be forced to enter an agreement with the U.S. on the mineral rights and U.S. contractors in Ukraine will be the implicit security guarantee for Ukraine. Again, removing politics from this, understand this is the savvy way to go. NATO boots serve as a provocation, but Russia has no 'provocation' case if we merely have our contractors over there mining minerals. If Russia attacks with our contractors over there, then they are the ones making the provocation, not the West. Zelenskyy has to understand this is the smart move.
